Great food but service a little slow

We had dinner there just an hour ago and I can honestly say that the trout with almonds was among the best fish dishes I have had. The waiter was very kind and attentive, but the service was a little slow. Well worth the wait, though.

We dined there before heading to a theater performance. Our waiter was very helpful with menu selections and making sure that we were able to leave on time for the theater. We enjoyed stuffed calamari for appetizer and it was enough for a good 'taste' for the four of us. One of the specials was the lamb chops which the... More

From the moment we stepped into this restaurant we loved everything about it. It is the perfect romantic setting for a couple's night out. Matt, our server, was knowledgeable and attentive. The food and wine (via Matt's recommendation) were delicious. This is my first time going online to make a review - that is how strongly I felt about this... More

What a lovely venue for Valentine's Day! The management knew how to pace the patrons so no one was rushed & no one had to wait. Servers were efficient & the menu quintessential French! There were several well-priced French wines & all dishes showed care & practiced preparation. This is a wonderful venue when visiting Richmond & in search of... More

We aimed at going to the Tobacco Company for lunch, but were fortunate enough it was full, so we meandered down to Bisto Bobette. We enjoyed our lunch immensely. Our waiter, John, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and patient with us as we asked about the menu. We both had wonderful crepe lunches! Great wine & wonderful atmosphere to boot. Thank... More

My wife and a friend both ordered a seafood special (Red Snapper)...when served the fish had a strong fish odor and it was 'gamey' (tough to eat....)...probably undercooked? The waiter never asked how our meals were....ambiance is very nice....tables close together made it a bit noisy...good wine selection...overall a very nice place, but service was very slow and the food... We went to Bistro Bobette on our anniversary dinner and I have to say I was disappointed in the visit. The service was passable, we experienced some drama due to a very rude and apparently nasty tempered customer that walked out on his bill, and then had disappointing food to top it off. I really felt bad for the server... More

Whenever in Richmond, we dine at Bistro Bobette. What a treat! Attention to detail, wonderful customer service, consistent quality, innovative cuisine sets this restaurant in a category comparable to NYC, SF and even Paris. Escargot best ever. Salads perfectly dressed, Charcuterie...oh my. Seafood, Beef tenderloin, and any game options will not disappoint. Will return next time in town.

Went to restaurant for our wedding anniversary with our daughter. She set up a surprise desert 1 day before the dinner and 1/2hour before dinner a server called our daughter to discuss toppings for the desert. When desert time came no surprise. We were told the oven broke and they couldn't make it. What was wrong was they had no... More
