It was our friend's first visit to Richmond and we wanted to make her to have a wonderful impression of our city so we took her to Mezzanine, one of our favorite spots. We've eaten here many times and always enjoyed it but this visit was a let down. Arriving as they opened for the evening, we took a seat... More

Our party of 4 adults had a great experience at Mezzanine. We all tried their soup of the day, sweet potato with apple and curried pecans. WOW! I could have licked the bowl...the only thing missing was fresh bread to clean the bowl with. I ordered the beet stack....another big win if you like beets and goat cheese. Very rich... More

Yay for tasty southern-style food. We stopped at this restaurant on our back from Florida to NY. I found it on Polyface Farm's site; they supply the restaurant with some of their meat. We were a little put off by the atmosphere in the place but we were so tired at that point we didn't care. I had the duck... More

Pleasant, enjoyable meal but did not reach outstanding. Avocado tacos were excellent. An expanded beverage selection would have enhanced the evening. Atmosphere was so so. Service was very good. I would return, hoping for an upside surprise.

OK, I admit my review is colored by two things: First, as it is Carytown Restaurant Week, I got a fantastic amount of food for $25.13--appetizer, very nice sized entree, and dessert. Second, as I was eating alone, I asked to be seated at the bar, where I got to talk extensively to a very friendly man who turned out... More

Excellent dinner last night at Mezzanine. We made reservations and were promptly seated. We started wit the stacked tomato and it was refreshing. A bottle of Riesling paired beautifully with our dinners. We dined on crabcakes with fried green tomatoes and avocado tacos - both dishes were flavorful and not too heavy. We ended the evening with pound cake with... More

Shortly before we walked in the door the chandelier at Mezzanine had fallen and shattered all over the place. Despite the debacle, the staff soldiered on professionally and cheerfully, and the service never stumbled. The braised short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth divine, the special pork belly tacos packed with flavor. And the desserts didn't disappoint, either. The Kahlua chocolate mousse and... More

This was my second visit to Mezzanine and I found the service and the ambiance excellent. Stooped by here without a reservation before the theater and it was great service and a very nice menu selection. I did find the prices it high for Richmond but that may have been my tastes!

I ordered the steak last night and it tasted as if a box of salt was poured on it (on purpose). Per your wish, your restaurant is off of my list of dives to go to; but it's on my list to tell everyone I know to avoid. Gotta love social media. Thanks for the salty experience!

I have just moved to Richmond and had heard about this restaurant from a colleague. My husband, friend and I ate there on 7/12/2013. Overall, we had a fantastic first experience. The waitress was attentive but never once rushed us. We had the short ribs small plate, the lobster gnocchi small plate and the tuna entree. The small plates were... More
