Cous Cous offers delicious mediterranean fare, but the portions are too small! I ordered chicken tangine as a dinner entree - it was delicious, but served on a small tapas-sized plate. On my next trip I would order multiple entrees to split with others. The lentil soup was very good, too.

The food was good but the portions are small. Growing in the Mediterranean region, I ate quite my share of coucous and I know what it tastes like. The couscous I ate at this restaurant was nothing to brag about. Don't get me wrong, it was a good meal, but I've had better. I think something was missing in the... More

I had a late lunch in the middle of the week, and the service and meal was great. The only front staff was the bartender, who doubled as the server, and probably the owner, was friendly and provided good service. I would definitely order the fries. I was a little hesitant because of the interesting spice, but they were pretty... More

The restaurant is on the bottom floor of a mixed space building--below in the basement is a university bookstore, above are apartments (imagine living above this awesome restaurant!). You walk in the common doors and enter the restaurant--first impressions: cute, cozy, comfortable and appealing. Music wasn't too loud, not too hot or cold (these things tend to really affect the... My partner and I shared a quiet dinner at Cous Cous, an intriguing Mediterranean restaurant near the VCU campus in Richmond, VA. The waitress was very personable and gave great advice - to order 3 to 4 entrees to share between the two of us. Over a half-craft of tangy (but not too sweet!) Sangria, we shared several vegetarian options... More

We were hungry for Mediterranean after a looonng day of driving and a weekend of really heavy meals. Cous Cous was not exactly convenient to where we were staying, but it ended up being worth the trip. I liked the interior- just enough work put into the decor. It appears to be a club in the evening as well, but... More

We ate dinner here before going to a performance at the Landmark Theatre. We enjoyed the food, especially the Country Salad. Nice atmosphere. It was a pleasant 8 minute stroll to the theatre. We were worried about safety being 3 ladies alone but that wasn't a problem. We cut through the closed portion of Shafer Street at VCU. There were... More

I recommend getting a bunch of small plates and sharing. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was friendly. Will definitely make it a regular.

We went to Cous Cous on our most recent trip to Richmond. I adore Middle Eastern food and I had read some great reviews of this place. It's located on W. Franklin St, in the heart of the VCU area. We arrived early and it was quiet. The interior is dimly lit but nicely decorated-- it really give the restaurant... More

Enjoyed the different artsy environment and wide selection of Middle Eastern foods. Service was fast and friendly. Parking is unfortunately a problem in this neighborhood. Good place to have a leisurely lunch or dinner.
