Perfect meal every time!

Julep's is one of my all-time favorite places in Richmond. Their food and and service is impeccable and the atmosphere is welcoming. I strongly recommend their mint juleps, famous fried green tomatoes and their braised rabbit and dumplings. I've had almost every item on the menu and have never... read more

I'm couldn't be happier to see Juleps move to Grace Street. There is plenty of parking on the side streets as well as a great, inexpensive pay lot located behind the restaurant. Juleps is a classic Richmond restaurant and one of our very favorite places to visit for their cocktails and appetizers. The meals are solid and there is plenty... More

Excellent. The new location is a downtown treasure. Everything about Juleps from the service to the food and to the drinks manages to nail every detail of a great dining experience. The menu has a definite low country southern twist. The food is fresh, nicely presented and above all, iris delicious.

Julep's has wonderful service with a great atmosphere. Joe was a truly phenomenal server. The restaurant is two stories but not very large. I'd advise making a reservation and requesting to be seated upstairs. This is $$$ so dress appropriately and base your expectations appropriately. My boyfriend and I had a LivingSocial deal for $20 off, so we wanted to... More

This beautiful graceful space in downtown is a great location for the terrific new southern style food, and old southern style service, of this terrific restaurant. We were looking for something southern for the last night of our trip through the south and this really fitted the bill, some trad faves on the menu, like fired green tomatoes plus some... More

I went to Juleps new location on Grace St. last night, and came away quite impressed by both the food and the new space. It is light and airy with out being sterile, with seating in the bar area as well as the dining room. It appears they have taken the food up a notch, even though it was always... More

Juleps has kind of a big reputation but it must have been based on its past. We had the famous fried gren tomato appetizer - holy yuck - the tomatoes were very thickly cut and they did not get fried through and were essentially raw; the pimento cheese that is on the side really doesn't work;- it just bizarre. The... More

Start with a verde mojito then dive into the scallops and enjoy the crab cakes! Its a short walk from the downtown hotels like Hilton Garden Inn and lots of new restaurants along Grace Street, the new "Restaurant Row". Atmosphere is upscale but not stuffy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Not open for lunch yet, but packed on a Monday... More

What a treat for a couple from California. True Southern hospitality and cuisine. Hubby had shrimp and grits (that were AMAZING!!) and I had their crab cake which was just that - basically lump crab without fillers. We enjoyed Banana's Foster for dessert, which was prepared at our table. Our waiter, Randy, did a fantastic job. When he found out... More

Richmond, VA, has enough "southern cuisine" eateries to feed an entire Army of the Confederacy, but only one, Julep's, reaches into the gastronomic stratosphere to be comparable with the nation's best restaurants. For years Julep's earned top repute among its fellows at an earlier location. It recently moved to a site uptown and acquired master Chef Matthew Tlusky. There, I... More
