My boyfriend and I had a great dinner @ Juleps. We started with the fries green tomatoes with freshly made pimento cheese-great choice!!! I had the crab cakes and they were so fresh and not full of bread filler!!! My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits-he didn't say much about them but he ate them all so that speaks for... More

Special occasions or date nite the atmosphere is low key up stairs and downstairs is just a great little corner bar for after work drinks!

This is our go to place for dinner when we come to Richmond. They always deliver and this evening was no exception. We started with the fried green tomatoes and veal sweet breads and they were so flavorful! For dinner we shared the Rabbit Cassoulet and it was so tender. Our other 2 in our parties had the halibut special... More

Rated as one of the top Richmond restaurants, spiking our enthusiasm for the evening. We were very fortunate to arrive and be seated without reservations. Capacity is very limited on two stories, serviced by a long, steep spiral staircase requiring the agility of a mountain goat. The table shared an appetizer of mussels with lambs liver but the sauce was... More

We ate here on a Thursday night; we sat upstairs in Joe's section. The fried green tomatoes and romaine Caesar salad appetizers were wonderful. The NY Strip and Shrimp and Grits entrees were good. The server celebrated with us by giving us a Bananas Foster dessert on the house. Honestly, the excellence of the service surpassed the quality of the... More

One year after my first review of Juleps I am happy to say my initial glowing review was not an aberration and this definitely is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. From their award-winning fried green tomatoes (still amazing) to their succulent sweet scallops to their cold corn soup to a large piece of halibut with corn... More

I purchased a Groupon to eat Julep. The meal was good but expensive and service was adequate. I spent about $125 for dinner for myself and my daughter and her friend. Once I saw the bill I decided that I could not afford to leave a tip. Upon leaving after paying the bill the waiter chased me down to inform... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Richmond. They will surprise you every time you go because the menu is changing constantly (With the exception of a few staples like Shrimp and Grits) to better reflect the locally available ingredients. However you will enjoy anything you try here before the chef always finds the way to add the right... More

Julep's is one of my favorite restaurants in RVA! I have been many times with large and small groups and no matter the situation they always deliver. I recently dined on Saturday and they had just presented the new summer menu. What a fun and creative menu. I had the Veal Sweetbreads to start, incredible. Chose the excellent Heirloom Tomato... The food was great, but at $30 an entree, it better have been. Our server insisted on pouring our beer for us, but unfortunately he didn't know how. He poured it into the center of the glass, resulting in four inches of head every time. I couldn't really enjoy my dinner because I had a huge bubble from swallowing all... More
