The special was chicken fried sea and eggs and bloody Mary's. .. so we ordered 4 of them.. the bloody Mary's took 30 minutes to be delivered and we were half way through our breakfast by then. We were underwhelmed by the diner's atmosphere and decor, but they had very friendly waiters and the best onion rings we've ever eaten. Their chicken fried steak, eggs and bacon breakfast, and coffee were also great. We'll definitely return. Come for the food and service, and don't worry about the tired furnishings.

We went in nobody at the counter or at the stand to put your name on the list. Waited for about 5 minuets and finally a guy comes up, no eye contact looks at the list, moves a few things around and walks off. This happened again before I stopped him am ha him write my name down. He wasn't... More

When we are near my girlfriend insists we stop for the chicken fried steak. She orders with no gravy (she is from NYC) and has one of the delicious sides. Traveled by the other day at 8:30 am and she wanted to stop for another I always order mine the correct way, slathered in gravy. Sides are tasty and fresh.... More

I usually dont review places that you can tell by looking at it, isnt much to write about, typically you get what you pay for and I leave it at that. We tried to get into another place but they were packed, this was our Plan B. It should have been Plan Z. Half the seats were empty but they... More

Been here several times and always get great service and food. Busy lunch times but minimal wait. Chicken Fried steak comes in 2 sizes and is great. Seen some complaints on here about the food. My family has had a good combination of the menu and never a complaint.

I tried to find Charro's Mexican Restaurant that was also listed on Trip Advisor, but all I found was an old house and grass field at the given location. At first I thought the Hill Country Cupboard was an antique store, but finally walked in when I noticed that there were too many people and bikers stopping for it to... More

Need improvement.. A long decades old establishment that caters to the local crowd. Do not expect any "modern/healthy fare" here..fabulous chicken fried steak, bit super disappointed in mashed potatoes/gravy... The gravy is "packet gravy", and the mashed potatoes are not "fresh" by any means.. Wish they cared to improve on those..

Told my driver to pull into the cafe due to it being a sit down restaurant with several cars around it. Figured locals know where to find good food. Started with a side salad that had Iceberg lettuce, a table spoon of tomato pieces and a table spoon of croutons. That was mildly disappointing Had the southern catfish sans the... More
