unexpected deliciousness--Gluten free options, too

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this brew pub. They had several beers available which they brew--which made husband and daughter happy. There were gf options (pizza crust, hamburger buns, and all the vegetables, and many dishes) which made me happy. The service was fast... read more

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food at this brew pub. They had several beers available which they brew--which made husband and daughter happy. There were gf options (pizza crust, hamburger buns, and all the vegetables, and many dishes) which made me happy. The service was fast (weeknight, not crowded), the prices were very reasonable. This restaurant is across the street from the Courthouse in an old building which is restored nicely. While the ambiance was wonderful. Unfortunately the food and service were not. We went on a Saturday night and the place was crowded. We were disappointed overall.

First time we stopped in, we had no idea what to expect. A Brew pub in Johnson city? This town is so small that the town square has only two sides. But more than pleasantly surprised, we've become hard core fans. After thinking about this food for months, we just visited again, just for that lamb burger, with feta cheese.... More

The Pecan Street Brewery is very inviting. It is on the square that surrounds the Courthouse. It has a nice bar and also plenty of tables and has a nice airy feel. I had a Ceasar Salad w/ grilled chicken and my wife had a pulled pork sandwich, both were very good. The service was friendly and good. A nice... More

Many people for lunch in Sunday. Sat quickly, staff was friendly and very fast. Food was very good and quick out of the kitchen. Had a flight of all the beers. Very tasty. Really liked the Munich Dunkel with the Patstrami.

After visiting the Johnson Birthplace NP we were surprised to find a brewery in Johnson City. This restaurant is located in a historic building across from the courthouse. We stopped for lunch and ordered their Ten Penny Ale and Screw Loose Blonde. Both beers were flavorful and smooth. For lunch we ordered their lemon hummus and flatbread and a small... More

We were there Sat.night right after a big bicycle event so restaurant and bar were packed to gills. In spite of this, our waitress managed to get us served promptly with delicious food. Pizzas are very good and meatloaf also.

Across from the courthouse in Johnson City, TX a western style eatery with a variety of local brews. Good sandwich menu and good brews.

We stopped in on Saturday March 28th in the afternoon and saw a lot of people waiting, yet half the tables empty. We went to the hostess stand and was seated on the spot. We ordered our drinks and an employee suddenly ran up to our table saying that there was a wait list and the employee that sat us... More

We were passing through town yesterday and had our eyes on going to the lumberyard (as we have been there before and know they do a good job). It was 4:30 and since the lumberyard wasn't open, we went around to the Pecan Street based on other reviews. By the sheer volume of cars, it is easy to see that... More
