Went here last night. We had a 5 P.M. reservation prior to going to a concert. We don't understand the bad reviews. The food was very good, the service excellent and the atmosphere charming. Either others were there on a bad night (as sometime happens), or we were there on a very good night. We will return.

You can see the theme that (someone) was trying to create with the posters on the walls. But that's where it ends. Grossly understaffed: 1 1/2 hours to eat. Run down. Bad food: half-cooked pasta, half-cooked broccoli rate, half-warm linguica. The waiter offered an excuse for the wait: he'd "placed the wrong order." Other tables suffered the same fate. Avoid.

"Authentic Italian Cuisine". I Don't Think So! Chef Boyardee is more authentic. The owner may have travelled extensively through Italy, but the chef sure didn't. Save your money.

We enjoyed our experience at Ricardo's yesterday. The decor, ambiance and live Jazz band created an unique atmosphere. We had their specials this evening,-strawberry/veg salad and Haddock baked in a blanket- both excellent. The service was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant for special occasion.

Waited 30 mins for drinks which only 2 of the 4 received. We ordered apps after waiting 1 hour the rude waiter came to out table and annouced I don't know what to tell you. We left after 1 hour 30 mins. in which time we had 2 drinks and a couple slices of bread. I don't care how good... More

We used to eat here frequently, but had discontinued because the service had deteriorated. We decided to give it another try. What a mistake! Not only had the service not improved , it was worse than ever. We arrived ten minutes before our reservation and were greeted rudely by the owner. After being seated, we waited at fifteen minutes before... More

YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS REVIEW: My wife and I work 60+ hour weeks, both waited tables for years, and have eaten out about 4-6 times per week for the last 15+ years. I have gotten takeout here once, but this was my first dining experience in the restaurant. I was greeted by an older gentleman wearing a sweater and... More

I took my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday. Neither of us had ever been there before. Big mistake! We had reservations for 7:30, were seated at 8:15, ordered drinks at 8:30...we ask for bread. Even the bread is cheap. My boyfriend ordered the sausage minestrone soup, I ordered iceberg salad and the antipasto. While the portions are large, the food... More

Mixed bag review. Would like to think most of the issues encountered were due to a new waiter just learning the ropes at a new restaurant. We were greeted promptly and sat in a back cozy two person table. Atmosphere is basic, typical old Italian, small tables, close together – about 12-15 tables (depending if pushed together) on one side.... More

If Ricardo's was in the north end of Boston there would be a line out the door. Fine Italian comfort food at reasonable prices in an intimate neighborhood setting. Ricardo is old school, the bartender is old school and our waitress was old school. The place is a nice neighborhood holy rosary-type trattoria. As soon as we sat down we... More
