The only thing Greek is the name….

Food was quite mediocre though plentiful. Could not finish meal and it was just not very good. No Greek seasonings to speak of in the chicken shish kebab, strange coating on the deep fried calamari with a stranger dip. And a Greek coffee for $9. (not listed in the menu) is simply an unheard of... read more

I have been going here since the 1970s. I like it better than the Olympia for food and prices. Nice staff, very personable...the decor is old and the carpets are dirty. The bathrooms are upstairs and if you have physical limitations, good luck! One thing I never understood is there policy to not allow you a soup to go that... More

Authentic Greek food. I generally go for the baked lamb garnish, which has very tender "fall off the bone" meat. It always seems to need more sauce than it comes with, though, especially considering the amount of beans and cabbage that accompany it. Good deal with the soup and salad (I prefer the lentil soup, which is excellent). Also decent... More

This place is a legend in Lowell but really needs a makeover. Carpet looks and smells like the 70s. Employees are really nice.

Typical Greek restaurant decor, lots of blue, lots of pictures of Greece. The food was just average. The outside of the lamb kebab meat was not crispy as it should be, the green beans with tomato were pretty blah. The dolmades were not very tasty or meaty. The chicken/lemon/rice soup was OK. Service was OK. It this is the only... More

The Athenian Corner Restaurant in Lowell Mass is a great restaurant if you are yearning for Greek specialties. I have eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The lemon chicken & rice soup is a must have to start your meal. We also shared Greek sausages as an appetizer and they were delicious. Our table share... More

Deciding on what to have, I opted for Athenian takeout with a co-worker. We paid $20 and got: 2 lemon drop soups - tasty and big portions 2 gyros (mine was chicken, his actual gyro) - large enough to actually take the meat and have another meal with Side of rice large enough that I'm using it with the leftover... I had wanted to try this restaurant for years, as it came highly recommended. We arrived early on a Saturday night, which was a good thing as it got very crowded a bit later. I had the egg lemon soup, which was tasty, if a bit salty. I ordered the lamb shish kebab, medium rare, with a cabbage dish and... More

Best Greek and Armenian food around. Real belly dancers add fun to the night. Truly world class Greek and Armenian music played by some of the best musicians. Not the greatest interior but the food and entertainment make up for it.

I'm picky about my grape leaves. Prior to getting them at the Athenian Corner, the only grape leaves I found acceptable were those cooked by a Middle-Eastern friend's grandmother. Normally the grape leaves I get at restaurants are soggy, bland, and fall apart into a mess of disapointing coagulated rice-mush. But here at the Athenian Corner, they were amazing. These... More
