This place is great. We found this place on the net when looking for south Indian options in and around the Boston area. It was quite a drive from downtown boston, but it was totally worth it. The place is a small place with a small/mid sized buffet, but all the items in the buffet are delicious. They also have... More

We are huge fans of Indian food, although until last night we had never tried Southern Indian cuisine...what a treat! Neither of us are vegetarians but I can tell you no way did we miss the meat. Even though we don't have anything to compare this with, I get the feeling we have found a hidden gem in Udupi Bhavan.... More

I can't tell you what anything is called…..but I come here about once a month for a lunch buffet. I live in Boston and come here for their food, that's how yummy it is. As a gluten free vegetarian, I am able to eat almost everything they serve. The flavors and variety in the buffet are incredible. I've been to... More

Have been here 5 times and really enjoyed it each time! Excellent variety of Indian veg dishes plus delicious dosa and chutneys. Very nice and friendly service. A bit tricky to find (make sure to get good directions!). Definitely recommended!

I love to eat here. It is one of my favorite places for south-Indian food. They have big varieties of dosa, uttapam, punjabi and south Indian curries. They also have Indo-Chinese fusion food. I love spring dosa and noodles dosa. Their paneer makhni and paneer bhurji is delicious and for appetizer I always opt out for Kathi rolls and bread... More

This is my new favorite in greater Boston. Udupi is in the outskirts of Lowell and is tucked in the side of a small strip mall in an area of fast food outlets. Not a pretty area. Is completely vegetarian (can also do vegan). Has a huge selection. Includes a whole variety of uthappam's which are rice and lentil pancakes... More

This restaurant sets itself apart from the many other Indian restaurants at which you may have dined. Most Indian restaurant offer Northern Indian dishes. This restaurant specializes in the vegetarian cuisine of Southern India. Their dosas (large crepes, both filled and unfilled) are amazing and made fresh to order. The food was delicious and the service was very efficient. The... More

Took my dad to this place and as it turns out, this place was really good. The restaurant itself is small but was kept clean.Someone dropped a fork on the floor and instantly someone took care of the spilled food with a vacuum cleaner.I had the lunch buffet which includes south indian appetizers like Idli dosa vada pokara etc before you... We go there almost every few weeks for both lunch and dinner. Our experience has been great for both food and service.

We've been visiting Udupi for many years, on a regular basis. As yet, we have never been disappointed by any of the dishes we've ordered. Everything is expertly prepared, and the staff are always friendly and very helpful. This is a wonderful place to bring children, as they are welcomed warmly and treated to a lollipop after they've eaten. It's... More
