We go there almost every few weeks for both lunch and dinner. Our experience has been great for both food and service.
We've been visiting Udupi for many years, on a regular basis. As yet, we have never been disappointed by any of the dishes we've ordered. Everything is expertly prepared, and the staff are always friendly and very helpful. This is a wonderful place to bring children, as they are welcomed warmly and treated to a lollipop after they've eaten. It's... More
Took a vegetarian colleague to this place on a Wednesday evening. Excellent South Indian choices. The Plain Dosa was heavenly and the Dahi Vada was really nice. Adequate amount of Samvar and Chutney; and they'd give you more if you asked. Total check was below $30 for two people. Well-spent. Only complaint -- the place is quite small. And it's... More
I've been here a couple of times for lunch during the week. It's a hole in the wall, in the middle of a little mini-mall behind Jiffy Lube. Vegetarian only. Really fantastically interesting food. Three of us just spent a total of 35 dollars with a big tip.
My wife and I heard about this place a few years ago when travelling through Massachussetts. We spend our late summers in Maine and have made a point of stopping here on our way home. We have never been disappointed. The South Indian food is very, very good. There are not many South Indian restaurants around compared to the usual Northern... More
My family has been coming back to Udupi Bhavan for the weekend buffet. It is a great value, and consistently good quality. The buffet comes with dosai served to your table, and usually has salad, idli, vada, sambar, rasam, curries, great chutneys, and deserts. There is a good variety week to week.
This funky, no-frills restaurant is hidden in a strip plaza next to a Jiffy Lube. The atmosphere and decor aren't much to speak of - but the friendly staff and incredible food are worth the trip. The big draw here are the dosai (huge, thin crepes) - but branch out and try it all. From the onion and chilli uthaapam... More
Being from bombay,we love indian food! This is a totally vegetarian place with a vast menu. Great service and friendly staff! On most occasions we liked the food. although let me warn you, if you are from India, you know this is not the best "fine dine" indian restaurant option you have. But none the less, we keep going back often,... More
Fresh foods, taste is OKAY. Pulav, Onion Uthaapam, Cabbage Curry, Sambar and Gulab Jamun tastes as like as the vegetarian Madarasi Hotel.
You really need to go here! Yes, it looks like a little dive and it does help to have someone who really knows Indian cuisine with you since the menu is huge, but the food is amazing! They service the standard northern Indian food dishes which are good but the best dishes are the southern Indian food - the Idlyi,... More
