I have only ever been to the Smokehouse to go out dancing on Saturday nights. My friends and I love the atmosphere here, it beats parking and driving into Boston (though it won't be Boston clubs ;) ). Its easy to visit without a big hassle of traveling and over-priced cover (ladies free, men $5). Anyway the place is pretty... More

I had the half rack of ribs which were very good. The sauce they put on them is to die for. My wife had the chicken pot pie which was homemade and very good. The sweet potato fries are better than average and the beans while not barbecue are below average, it would be nice if they offered true barbecue... More

Pleasant wait staff, very attentive. Good choice of beer on tap. Very tasty entrees (pot roast dinner was delicious, as was the chicken pot pie.) VERY GOOD VALUE. If in Lowell again, will stop by for a bite.

This place used to be great. They just changed their name so they wont be confused with their other locations.. that's what the bartender told us -- the Lowell location is more "clubby" and less restaurant. Well the new menu sure reflects that. We went here about a year or so ago and the place was packed, menu was large,... More

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, has potential to be a cool BBQ place but the food was really lacking. Ordered the ribs. Definitely wasn't smoked in house or anything special. The placed smelled more like paint then BBQ. The cornbread was decent. Our waitress left us alone. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you are looking for good BBQ... More

The restaurant is in downtown Lowell and has an inviting atmousphere. However the BBQ was really not great. I got a full rack of ribs and they were really nothing special. The sauce tasted just a little too much like ketchup.

No smoke flavor, a tasteless barbeque sauce, and they only offer one sauce, and hair in your food all equate to this being a very bad place if you are craving barbeque. Stay away unless you plan on drinking only as the bar is quite nice and inviting, and the beer cold.

Our brains were full and out stomachs empty after a day in the National Park. We were wandering without compass for a place to eat when we came upon the Village Smoke House. It was early and the place was fairly empty so we took a seat at the bar. Unsure of what beer or wine to order, the bartender... More

The service/atmospher is good - about what you would expect for a BBQ place, but the food and drinks weren't that great. My margarita came in a regular fountain drink glass. The cuts of meat were generous, but we didn't actually eat that much of it because the meat wasn't that great.
