good location and fresh fish but nervous reception

A lovely restaurant right on the harbour with lots of sheltered outside tables. A good wine list and fresh fish by the kilo. We had lobster pasta, salads and mixed fried fish with a delicate local fiano followed by lemon sorbet. We skipped antipasti as it involved lots of raw fish which we don't... read more

I was looking for a good quality restaurant to entertain some friends. After recommendation from my Hotel we arrived here. The setting is splendid the service very good but the food was a disappointment. Even allowing for perhaps our wrong choices from the menu the food was poorly presented, lacked flavour and was incredibly overpriced. The extra cost for potato... More

Service not helpful and food overpriced at 60 euro for plain grilled fish and one mixed salad, total bill with starters and bottle of wine 109 euro, our most expensive and most disappointing meal of the holiday

Our local friend booked this restaurant for our dinner as there were only a few choices on Monday. Like most restaurants here at the shore the focus is on seafood. We had mussels cooked in light sauce, prawn linguini, and a sole-like fish cooked in a similar sauce as the linguine. Not a bad choice if one has to have... More

maybe we were unlucky -other people seem to lovee this place. The 2 mixed seafood starters at 15 euro each ( we were told we had to order 2 despite asking for one) was a series of 5 plates ,the best was the fried octopus pieces and prawns , the worst was the deep fried ricotta cheese and the dullest... We dropped into this place, one of multiple restaurants on the waterfront in Trani, on the recommendation of the owner of one of two places listed in the Lonely Planet Guide, which was closed that night. Our first impression was not positive cheap looking menus in cheap plastic sleeves. However we were wrong! We ordered what sounded rather unimpressive –... More

We found this place walking through Trani on a cold and windy day in late December. Everything seemed shut and saw this Osteria open. Upon walking in saw a section with tanks of fresh seafood and decided to eat. We ordered a starter of raw seafood of sea urchins, oysters, local silver prawns, hairy mussels and some clams and my god... More

The owner of the B&B booked us in here on a Monday night after we had problems finding somewhere open after a late trip back. At the side of the harbour but set back against the buildings. This place had a different feel less touristy, with the clientele perhaps older and more Italian. This was the place we struggled the... More

We were 11 for dinner, shared some starters and a main dish for everyone, some bottles of wine, water and NO desserts. They had an "error" in their billing and were about to charge us nearly 700 euro for this dinner. Once pointed out that the bill was wrong, they charged us 440 euro! Quite a difference, so watch out... More
