We were in Puglia and decided to take Mario Batali's recommendation of Le Lampare. Just a visit to this lovely port town is worth it. And with a restaurant like this, a win-win. The inside is beyond words. It is one of the loveliest restaurant interiors I've ever seen. The stark white stone and classic updates make it one of... More

The location is glamour : an ancient church/fort at the entrance of Trani's harbour. The environment is high end thanks to a modern study of interior design. The cuisine is based on fish and the quality is good with a particular attention to the dishes presentation.

The restaurant is located in the old port of Trani on a former fort with a terrace from which guests can have an stunning view onto the cathedral and the port. The environment is high-end and very romantic and the welcome is inviting (glass of Franciacorta and interesting home made breads). The menu is based on sea-food with emphasis on... More

I have never felt more ripped off in a restaurant. Went here because it was touted by Mario Batali. I think he must have been compensated. It is a beautiful restaurant. 2 ounces of pasta with small amount of vongole cost 20 euros. I felt like the owners were making fools of us. Have liked all of Mr. Bataki's restaurants... More

Service was terrible -- one hour between courses with no attention or explanation. They advertise themselves as having "slow food," and we like leisurely dining, but this was ridiculous. Food was decent but not worth the wait. On the plus side, it's a lovely restaurant in a pretty setting.

We stumbled across Le Lampare whilst visiting Trani, it's in a great location with a great view of the harbour. The outside terrace was well designed, clean and elegant. Service was okay, however there were no menus and for those who didn't speak italian it was a little tricky, you also don't know how much you're spending! Clients were mostly... More

For our last night in Italy we wanted to eat local fish at a serious restaurant. We had some wonderful food at bars, osterias, and trattorias, but this was our first experience of a proper ristorante, and very good it was. The location is stunning, in a 12 century Romanesque church, (now de-consecrated!) adjoining the Trani Yacht Club, at the... More
