This was my third trip to Grendel's Den and I have not been disappointed. I've mainly gone there for the sandwiches and beer. Anyway, I thought it was about time I write a review. One of the things that attracted me to this place was the concept of a happy hour. Apparently, Massachusetts does not allow a happy hour on... More

I've been here a couple of times and it's a good spot for a beer and standard fare pub food. I had the Reuben which was tasty, and I heard the portobello rueben was also good. Decent beer selection as well. They can't do half price happy hour drinks in MA, so their loophole is half price food if you... More

I've been coming to Grendel's ever since my job assignment in Cambridge ten years ago. The food is good, the beer is better. It does get crowded during the extended happy hour (s) when all food is halgf price with a drink purchase. I've seen the place crwod up with starving grad students from Harvard, BU, BC and the myriad... More

The main reason I go to Grendel's Den is the hefeweizen. The food is decent and reasonably priced, particularly during happy hours. The service can be bit slow when it is crowded but that is to be expected.

This is a great tavern in central Cambridge, with outdoor and indoor seating. After a short wait, we secured a table outside. The beer selection is great, including their own Grendel Ale - unlike many American beers, this is an amber ale, without an overwhelming citra hop-inspired citrusy-bitterness, which tastes much like a classic British IPA. The food menu is... More

In a word, this place is good. Can't complain about the prices, especially for the area, with most entrees between $6 and $10. The Lobster Roll at $15 is delicious. A simple blend of just lobster and mayonaisse with a hint of cayenne. Good food, great prices. No complaints.

Located in the Harvard district of Boston, this place attracts a lot of students; both undergrad and mature alike. Inside the restaurant, it is very quaint and full of character. It's clearly been in operation for a while. There is a bar as well as a dinner service available. You have to seat yourself. We found no problem with that.... More

We came here for lunch on a Sunday and loved everything we ordered. We had a Greek salad, a Mediterranean Salad and a bowl of Cream of Tomato soup. Everything was great! The salads had nice dressings and a variety of fresh vegetables. The soup was very flavorful and filled a large bowl. The ambiance was relaxed and the decor... More

This restaurant, located with 2 blocks of Harvard Square is a gem! They offer a great selection of 'starters', salads, sandwiches and 'full meals' at unbelievably reasonable prices. They also serve beer, wine, etc. We sat outside on a beautiful day, it was so enjoyable. Also, great 'attentive' service.

Picked this place during day I'm Cambridge. Ordered a burger, it had no flavor and the meals my friends ordered did not wow us. I would not return here given the number of places to eat in the town.
