NOT your typical hotel restaurant

This was my third time to Dante's and I was not disappointed. I had the slider and the soup for my main meal and OMG they were both to die for. The soup is just beyond. You know how foodies talk about the "layers" of taste? Well, I didn't know what they meant until I had this soup. The truffle... read more

I usually dread and avoid hotel restaurants when they are a part of large hotels like the Sonesta in Cambridge. After a long, exhausting day of business meetings, though, my husband and I did not have the will to venture elsewhere. We hopped onto two stools at Dante's bar and surrendered ourselves to the charming, cheerful, tender ministrations of the... More

This nicely appointed restaurant is a solid choice for those wanting to stay in the hotel, rather than go out to eat while in Boston. We shared the calamari and the bruschetta,. Both were ample and flavorful. We both had the Arctic char, which was prepared slightly rare over wilted romaine with baby turnips. It was delicious. We shared mini... More

We were staying at the Royal Sonesta Hotel and had invited guests to join us for dinner in Dante's, as it is situated in the hotel. We booked a table for 8pm and had an aperitif at 7.30 in Dante's bar which is just a few steps from the dining area. The service in the bar was poor. Despite requesting... More

Service friendly. Menu limited and the food was not good. I had duck pasta which was greasy and I could not bring myself to finish the plate. Wine menu was good however.

Wonderful, light, and moist meatballs, exquisite arancini with truffled honey, creative and delicious peach with candied pistachios and gorgonzola, and fantastic duck ragu. Everything was amazing. Can't wait to go back and try more. After we'd stuffed our faces, our terrific waiter told us the desserts were equally spectacular. Next time we'll need to save room!

Dante is a fine place for a great night out for dinner. Great service, good wine and imaginative offerings make for a first rate meal. For example candied pistachios on Burratta add a crunchy and sweet touch. their pastas are just right in both size and taste, Plus there is usually at least on special. Last night a very tasty... Nice bar for a hotel bar with a great outdoor space overlooking the water and the city. Bartenders were very attentive for being so busy.

I simply love the food at this restaurant - - I've never eaten a bite that was not beautifully prepared and delicious. But the service - especially on their terrace overlooking the Charles River - where many patrons choose to sit in the summer - was a FIASCO. We were seated, then left alone for 15 minutes, when the hostess... More
