We were looking for a restaurant before going on a sunset cruise and Dante, located in the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge, was a convenient place to eat. The 3 hosts that greeted us could have cared less if we ate there or not. The server was adequate and the food - baked chicken and ravioli was just okay. Find another... More

Staying at the royal sonesta hotel, we decided to dine in the hotel Dante restaurant. This proved a good choice. We shared some starters and had different main courses (small versions for the children). The food was well coocked to italian tradition, the service very friendly.

The food was fresh and hot, but selection low and no imagination. The waiter needed to the center of attention. I'd rather he didn't. Had caprese, a couple of pasta dishes, side of greens, and a bottle of Dolcet Marchesi. $133.75 total. Boston has lots of excellent restaurants - so look for others.

Read in hotel booklet they were voted #1 in Italian. Obviously they were mistaken just because they use Italian language on the menu does not mean you will be able to choose traditional Italian food. We got up and left.

Restaurant Dante has many great attributes - a good menu and wine list, great location and fabulous staff! The outdoor area was perfect for warm summer evenings with a menu that offered local foods, drawing on Italian American experience, served with Italian flare. With a few trips to Italy before dining at Dante, and now living in Tuscany, I was... More

We dined at Dante in June and opted to sit out on the patio. This is a great spot for folks who'd like to see some water (the Charles River) and avoid the hectic scene of the harbor waterfront. As usual, the food was fantastic, especially the salmon and the roasted mushroom side dish. We took advantage of the smaller... More

Ambiance, food and wine list were quite good. Waiter was ANNOYING with a cheesy cliche Italian Rico Suave schtick that got old VERY fast. Was really looking forward to dessert after a great dinner but it was literally the WORST tiramisu I have ever eaten. If they can improve their desserts they will earn their Zagat rating in my book.

We must say first off that we loved our server Gianni. My husband got the seafood with zucchini pasta that he loved. I had a pasta dish with mussels. I asked that the chef go light on the garlic. Unfortunately it seemed like all the flavoring was removed, and the dish had tiny red peppers throughout it which were not... More

Conveniently located in the Royal Sonesta Hotel, overlooking the Charles River. Ate here on two occasions with business colleagues and thought overall it was reasonably priced and good quality food and service. It wasn't exceptional but perfectly satisfactory. Dishes were generous (bruschetta to start was very good). On both evenings the restaurant had plenty of other diners giving it a... More

The italian food is tasty, no question about that. But it is clearly overpriced and overhyped for what it is. Paid $65 (incl. tip) for an entree, an apple cake, and an average glass of red wine. And that's only for me. It was nice, but not so much better than many restaurants in Boston.
