Stopped her for lunch recently, and really enjoyed reading the menu! (not many places where you can say that). Ended up choosing the "iphone" (Siri-ously delicious). But all the other burgers we tried were good too. Place was crowded, but there was no line when we got there which was good. Sweet potato fries were very nice: I'd recommend swapping... More

Mr. Bartley's is one of our favorite places in the Boston area. The location right next to Harvard and a block away from Harvard Square makes for a great lunch or dinner spot when visiting Harvard Square. The menu is clever and extremely varied. All of the burgers, sandwiches, etc. are named after famous people or places, which means you... More

I fist learned of Mr. Bartley on one of my favorite Food Network shows; Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I was so excited to go there in person and it was awesome! The food was good and the staff were amazingly friendly. They even got us a picture with Mr. Bartley himself. He was kind enough to come out from behind... More

As many other reviews state, this place is a bit of greasy dive so the experience here is as important as the food, which is passable at best. When I went there in 1998 it was called 'Mr & Mrs Bartley's Burger Cottage'. I honestly can't see how you can visit Boston and not eat here though because its about... More

I crave a hamburger after a trip to the Red Cross - a ritual now that I've donated 6 gallons. After all the hype about Mr. Bartley's having the best burgers in Cambridge, I was disappointed. The 'Rob Ford' was OK, just a decent burger with sauerkraut and Russian dressing on a nondescript roll; nothing extraordinary, but the fries were... More

i know tons of people love this 'institution.' well, when i go there, i feel like i'm being admitted to and trapped in an 'institution.' yes, the burgers and subs are pretty decent. and the prices are very much harvard square. but someone should tell anyone waiting in line that there are better burgers on the square, and that they're... I'm going to premise - I'm generally not a huge fan of burgers. But I have to admit - Mr.B's gets me every time! This is a great place to take out-of-town guests for an inexpensive meal that's more than just a meal. The experience is great, and oh-so-Cambridge! If it's a burger you're looking for, with a small side... More

One goes to Mr. Bartley's because it is famous, has been in Harvard Square nearly forever and it is an institution. The food is fine, but the ambiance is the thing. I do find the inside to not be very clean, but I still eat there and love their burgers.

Just the hype, the burger is not special. Ordered the IPHONE & sweet potato fries, did not suit my palate as a gourmet burger restaurant. But I do admire their interior stuff

This restaurant has over 50 year history and you can feel it. Decoration is amazing with all the very old things hanging on the wall. It is something you must see in town. Prepate for lines during lunch. Still quick service. Only to read the menu is amusing as nurgers have names from politicians or other famous people. Simple and... More
