Truly excellent burgers, always worth a vistit

There's a reason this place is featured in "Hamburger America", a book of the 150 best burger places in the US: It's really that good. I've never had a disappointing burger here, even the vegetarian ones (the ultimate litmus test for a burger joint) are pretty good. As others have said, the... read more

If you don't go to Bartley's when you come to Cambridge, you've missed the FULL experience of Harvard Square. Every kind of burger you can imagine - done honestly and economically. Only Wollenskys in NYC can compare and then we're talking another, totally different category. btw, don't miss the sweet potato fries. Bartley's did this before it became chic.

It is a tradition in Cambridge to have a burger at Bartley’s. The choices of styles are many. The french fried sweet potatoes are perfect.

Bartley's is a fun stop if you are hungry in Harvard Square. It will generate lots of conversation afterwards. You share long tables with other customers, there are dozens of burgers to choose from and the onion strings are a real treat. Don't be surprised when: the food comes to the table as it is ready, the burgers drip and... More

I had the "Barack Obama" - my cousin's husband had "The Viagara" - what more can I say! LOL The signage and decor is one of a kind. The burgers are huge. The onion rings were great. The sweet potato fries are very good. I wish now that I had ordered a frappe, but I don't know where I would... More

One picture defines the restaurant. Unfortunately I didn't took any picture of my frappe. It was also perfect. Don't get frustrated with external view. It's very simple but the service and food is very good. I recommend for everybody visiting Boston

Busy and crowded this lively place served up some rocking burgers, cooked to perfection! Burgers are named after famous folks so reading the menu is very entertaining. We enjoyed attentive service and friendly smiling faces from staff. Definitely a place to visit in Cambridge!

The frappes are amazing but they're really milkshakes (try apple pie or key lime). Sweet potato fries were good but onion rings were average - don't believe the signage in the restaurant. Didn't try the burgers so can't comment. Visit for the Good Will Hunting factor!

We were on a college tour of Harvard and I looked on Trip Advisor for a lunch option. Found Mr. Bartley's and decided to go based on the reviews; it was also mentioned by our student tour guide, so that seemed like a good confirmation. Even though it was busy, we were able to be seated right away. The burgers... More
