the place is very nice... very "traditional". food is not that great, my boyfriend enjoyed the hamburger, but the potatoes (we tried bot the standard and the sweet8 were not well cooked. we also tried the root beer, it was really bad but since it was the first time we tried i cannot say if that is its usual taste

Food was good but I hate places that are cash only. I think they're just a gimmick to get you to drop another $2.50 on the ATM at the back of the place. It is not posted Cash Only except at the register, or at least I didn't see any such notice on the way in.

We've been eating at Mr. Bartley's since the 70's and have never once been disappointed. The meat tastes delicious, is always perfectly cooked and served by quirky, competent wait staff. The onion rings are thin and crisp, the frappes are creamy and tasty and the menu choices are fun to read and always changing. We recently tried the newly-opened Shake... More

This place is ALOT of fun. Feels like a really authentic Harvard hangout, right across the street from the school. You'll wanna go at an off-peak time unless you have time to stand in line. It was out the door during the lunch hour. We came back in the mid-afternoon and got right in. They seat you right next to... More

This Harvard icon is a short walk from Harvard Square. The side walk placard will help you find it. Small in size and ALWAYS packed, if you are lucky enough to get a table inside you will be entertained while enjoying the best burger and fries. The walls are covered with an eclectic mix of advertisements and memorabilia, some hysterical... More

Maybe it's the size of the burger's that's the draw : 7 oz. Otherwise, bland with no sear. GF rolls were available : the best in class. Still, go to Flat Patty's for a smaller, more flavorful burger.

I used to live in Cambridge and ate here frequently over the years. Coming back after being away 8 years, Mr. Bartley's still knows what's up. I got the People's Republic of Cambridge. Scrumptious. My boyfriend got The Putin and he opted for the ghost pepper jack cheese. The girls both went for the more standard cheeseburger, the Kevin Love.... More

We specifically made the trek to Cambridge to eat here and at 2:30pm when there were open tables, we found no where to sit because all the tables were dirty. After being seated it took a while to be served and when we tried to use the bathroom while waiting we found the inside dirty and no bathroom. The food... More

We heard about this restaurant on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and we wanted to go see. It was lunch time which was very busy but we were lucky to have a table just when we got in (no wait). I guess it was our lucky day because it is very busy. Nice decorated walls with tons to read. Burgers were... More

Overall friendly staffs, memorable vibes surrounded by its famous location. Food? good! But not as much as what people said on the internet! Lunch time - very busy. Be prepared to stand in a queue for a good mount of time!
