Great escape from the heat!

Came here on a very hot day in May. The restaurant was almost empty so we could sit anywhere we wanted. The waiter spoke Dutch since he used to live in Holland, so this was kind of a funny thing. The food was good, ofcourse for us the portions were way too big but oh well :) Large choice in... read more

My family went here for lunch on a recommendation. I should've gone with my gut when we saw an almost empty restaurant at noon. The service was slow, the sandwiches were average, and the lager was syrupy and unfinished. On our next trip to Cambridge, we will find a different lunch spot.

Had a dinner & drinks get together with old friends from my childhood this past week @ John Harvard's in Harvard square. We have gone to this place several times over the past 15 years. It looks the same and for the most part the menu hasn't changed either. The service was good but the food was a bit lackluster.... More

Amateur of craft beers, I was happy to get a sampler of 5 delicious beers. Not all of them were kinds I usually like but there tasted good to great nonetheless. Food was good, typical brewhouse food. Our server spoke to us in French all along, which to us Quebecers was welcoming and very much appreciated.

After a long walk to Harvard, we had lunch at John Harvard's in Harvard Square. Friendly service and good food. Our only complaint, we ordered a pitcher of beer and it wasn't very cold. We asked for cold frosty glasses and they didn't have any. Prices were surprisingly good for this area.

Great location and building, great name and great beer! After that, move along. Been eating calamari across New England, but, this took me back to Michigan, GFS! Worst meal we've had this trip.

Food is very good with some very tasty burgers and a good list of craft beers including several brewed right there. it is located right on Harvard Square. Great place to eat.

Went with a few friends after attending a seminar. Pale Ale beer was nice and tasty. Waitress was kind enough to even look for our soccer game on tv. Nachos were very decen and my entree was fantastic.

After our "Hahvahd" Tour (excellent) recently, we asked a couple of the students who run the tours a good place to get burgers and beer very near the campus and T-stop. One of them came up with the perfect solution - Johm Harvard's Brew House, only a block away - downstairs (thus a Keller, like a German Rathskeller). Charming place... More

Great atmosphere. Downstairs in a "Cheers" basement pub style restaurant. I had the clam chowder and loved it, wishing I'd got the bowl rather than the cup. God's honest truth this is the finest fish and chips I've ever had. It leaves all the others I've ever had in the dust. I hope to return in the future. Having experienced... More
