Good old school brew house and good food

Great selection of beers and reasonably priced. The food was good - I had the chicken BLT. Fresh, warm and tasty. The place is really pert of Cambridge history. A bit dark but that fits the image.

Had a fabulous time and dinner at John Harvard's! Excellent beer and lobster mac and cheese were a great way to end the day!

Honestly, we wanted to like it because it's a great location, a roomy place and the atmosphere seemed nice. And, since it was raining pretty hard, we were happy to find it! But, that's it. The service is slower than slow--even when there were only 3 tables with customers and about 4 people at the bar! When were finally acknowledged,... More

This place has great beer. The food is also quite delicious. My BiL still talks about this place 6 years after visiting. I went recently at an off peak time and the service was a little off, but the beer and the food are really hard to beat.

DO NOT EVER GO HERE. Every single server we encountered was terrible!! We had two different men serving us, one was extremely miserable, grumpy and rude and the other literally snorted a line at the kitchen entry and was high as a kite, the entire experience was extremely uncomfortable!! My glass was absolutely filthy and when I mentioned it to... More

I've been coming to this place since back when it was just "33 Dunster Street" and its always been a great place for beer and good food. Not this time, though. The food was okay and the beer was fine, as always, but the vibe of the place was weird and unwelcoming. The service was rushed and not too professional.... More

My daughter selected this place based on the website description that offered "60 brews". When we arrived there was only one made on premises.

We made the mistake of showing up near the end of a Patriots game. We had to find our own seats, there was no hostess working. Found the single unoccupied table in the bar area. With that kind of crowd, I expected better. It took forever to get the attention of a server, who took our drink orders and disappeared.... More

Pleasant ambiance with good beers on tap. The lobster Mac and cheese is great and for dessert get the bread pudding. Is a little loud and they have TVs on the bar area. Good place to watch football

Been coming here a long time now and I'd agree with other reviewers that it's okay, it's nothing particularly special. The odd thing is that, for a brewhouse, the food is actually better than the ale (which is, for the most part, distinctly average). What you get here is typical US bar food at a reasonable price. Service is generally... More
