so we had to have a brown ale instead which didn't very good ... it was just okay ... so a bit disappointing there. As for the food, it was pretty good. A burger, the 4-cheese and the lobster/avocado club were shared; bacon was placed on the side as requested. I like to judge the food prep by the quality... More

Visiting Harvard Square with family, we were looking for a dependable place for lunch. Remembering the Brew House from student days, we went over to see if it was still there. Not only was it there, but nothing had really changed. The beer was still very good, the food was basically ok and the service was a little too casual.... More

Our family had such a great time the first time we visited here we returned twice during their last visit. The first time was only for beer; the second time we had lunch. If we return, it will only be for beer. On our lunch visit, the restaurant was empty but the service was non-existent. Because we were a large... More

For a college pub, this was a fun place to catch up with friends and enjoy some drinks. While waiting for our food, we participated in the trivia night and ordered several rounds of drinks. If you are in the Cambridge area, this would be a one of my top choices to go when meeting a group of friends in... More

The food here is not outstanding, you would find mac'n'cheese, ribs, meat loaf... very north american food. But it is a good cost benefit and also a plaesant ambience, very informal and nice choice to have a beer with friends

My husband and I were wandering around Cambridge last month when we decided to stop in for lunch at John Harvard's. It was a fairly hot day, and the dark, cool atmosphere we a perfect respite. We sat in one of their raised booths near the bar, which was large and deeply padded and very, very comfortable. My husband ordered... More

We head to John Harvard's House for beers every now and then. A nice pub with good music played by bands occasionally. Not a place of special interest. I like the murrals at the walls though.

Stopped by John Harvard's after visiting Harvard. The food was great and the atmosphere was good. They ID everyone so paring yours with you ....mixed crowd as we were there during the World Cup. It was packed. Wait staff was friendly and the food arrived quickly.

A friendly atmosphere pub/restaurant. All your standards are done well from mac n cheese to fancy grilled cheese to 1/2 burgers. Really love their nachos. And always has a good selection of beers brewed on premises. What's not to like?

This is one of Harvard's best places for me ... every time I go to Boston I must visit the John Harvard's ... they serve one of my favorite clam chowders ( however, do ask your waiter to serve it extra hot ) and their beer ( brewed there ) is truly fantastic ... do bring your ID ( passport... More
