Delio Susi, in anticipation of his restaurant’s tenth anniversary, refined both his restaurant’s menu as well as its interior design, to great success. Losing none of his Abruzzi roots, the food is clean but clearly Italian, and a little rustic. The warm and inviting room makes the same statement. Drawing on his architectural background, Susi plays with simple organic materials, like square slate tiles and tabletops, and brown leather tufted banquettes. The use of brick plus copper fixtures contribute to the Italian country/casual feel that serves food and wine to match. Wooden floors and European style open windows for the summer add to this ambiance. And red lamps that hang in bright contrast with the earthy tones during the day, shed a sexy flattering nighttime glow. Amelia’s Trattoria offers a personal and authentic dining experience using top local ingredients infused with the heart of its Italian chef.

Great food, so so service

The food is is VERY good. Unfortunately the service can be slow. If you are willing to deal with slow service when they get busy then you will enjoy it. Their lunches are excellent as well.

Descent atmosphere and coze interior. Small chef run place with good Italian. Accommodating folks in case you wish to try something else. Quality and taste of food is consistent. Can get noisy at times (which simply reminds you that the place is Italian).

I've been here a couple times with friends when I'm visiting the Cambridge area. It's a tiny little place not really close to much else but still in a decent part of the city within walking distance of a couple T stops. I came here over the winter with a friend after having found it on this site, looking for... More

A cosy and lively place with great anti pasta and average main courses. I had ravioli with lobster. The lobster was clearly not fresh and chewy - most likely frozen. Very heavy on the sauce. A good selection of wines though.

Marathon weekend in Boston - our group was staying in Cambridge and looking for an excellent Italian meal within walking distance of our accommodations! We contacted Amelia's on Friday night hoping for a reservation, but the place was jammed. "Come back on Saturday and we will take care of you" we were told, so a reservation was made for the... Back in Boston a year later my friend and I dined at Amelia's because I had such a good experience the first time, and it did not disappoint. We shared the calamari appetizer, which was excellent. I then had the braised short rib bolognese which hearty and delicious while my friend enjoyed the house-made spaghetti. The smutty-nosed beer was the... More

Amelia's was able to provide 11 of us with a last minute table at 5:15pm yesterday. By the time we left at 7pm it was packed with people waiting. The experience was terrific. Parking was not too hard in the area with plenty of metered spots available. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Go for the focaccia and delicious mystery... More

I have eyed this neighborhood trattoria for a while and finally was able to stop for lunch on a blisteringly cold day in Cambridge. It is a small footprint once inside with throttles close but not too close to be uncomfortable. Service was prompt and pleasantly attentive. I had the pasta special of the day, the bolognese sauce on linguine.... More

My wife wanted Italian. so with nor reservations for the North End on a Saturday afternoon, we went To Amelia's. It was early (6pm) and the place was empty. The service, of course was good. The ambiance was fine, very small place, maybe 40 seats with a bar in the middle of the dining room (go figure, use the space for... More

I eat out quite a bit, and this is possibly the worst restaurant I have ever been to in Boston. Unfortunately, I go there often, because most of our business lunches and dinners end up there. But, because of that, I have a consistent set of data to base my review on. The service in this restaurant is a joke,... More
