Description: Delio Susi, in anticipation of his restaurant’s tenth anniversary, refined...
Delio Susi, in anticipation of his restaurant’s tenth anniversary, refined both his restaurant’s menu as well as its interior design, to great success. Losing none of his Abruzzi roots, the food is clean but clearly Italian, and a little rustic. The warm and inviting room makes the same statement. Drawing on his architectural background, Susi plays with simple organic materials, like square slate tiles and tabletops, and brown leather tufted banquettes. The use of brick plus copper fixtures contribute to the Italian country/casual feel that serves food and wine to match. Wooden floors and European style open windows for the summer add to this ambiance. And red lamps that hang in bright contrast with the earthy tones during the day, shed a sexy flattering nighttime glow. Amelia’s Trattoria offers a personal and authentic dining experience using top local ingredients infused with the heart of its Italian chef.

Back in Boston a year later my friend and I dined at Amelia's because I had such a good experience the first time, and it did not disappoint. We shared the calamari appetizer, which was excellent. I then had the braised short rib bolognese which hearty and delicious while my friend enjoyed the house-made spaghetti. The smutty-nosed beer was the... More

Amelia's was able to provide 11 of us with a last minute table at 5:15pm yesterday. By the time we left at 7pm it was packed with people waiting. The experience was terrific. Parking was not too hard in the area with plenty of metered spots available. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Go for the focaccia and delicious mystery... More

I have eyed this neighborhood trattoria for a while and finally was able to stop for lunch on a blisteringly cold day in Cambridge. It is a small footprint once inside with throttles close but not too close to be uncomfortable. Service was prompt and pleasantly attentive. I had the pasta special of the day, the bolognese sauce on linguine.... More

My wife wanted Italian. so with nor reservations for the North End on a Saturday afternoon, we went To Amelia's. It was early (6pm) and the place was empty. The service, of course was good. The ambiance was fine, very small place, maybe 40 seats with a bar in the middle of the dining room (go figure, use the space for... More

I eat out quite a bit, and this is possibly the worst restaurant I have ever been to in Boston. Unfortunately, I go there often, because most of our business lunches and dinners end up there. But, because of that, I have a consistent set of data to base my review on. The service in this restaurant is a joke,... More

Met friends with kids here for dinner on a recent business trip to Cambridge. Amelia's is a good balance of well-prepared food and kid-friendliness. The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the cooking. I had arancini and a special entree of wild boar sausage with white beans and rapini that was delicious. My friends' kids were able to... More

Such a lovely place; small and intimate, cozy and warm; the most wonderfully friendly and capable staff; and exquisite entrees, especially the homemade pasta dishes. A truly special experience.

We went there for a special occasion taking my niece from MIT out to dinner. Arrived at 6:45 and did not get food until 8:30 and had to ask for it. One waiter for the entire restaurant. Food was very average and after eating in the North end would never go back. Ordered Calamari for appetizer and it was mostly... More

It was our first time at Amelia's after going to the Kendal Cinema. It is a small restaurant that seems cater to their regulars. We had reservations but our table was In a high traffic area. Our service was rushed & we were bumped as waiters were serving others. The pasta was homemade , fresh and perfect portions.
