Hard to get into, now we know why

Giulia is, apparently, a local institution, and for that reason I was worried it would be full of locals who go there *because* it's a local institution, but I can lay that fear to rest. Yes, there was (at least) one obviously-local-regular but Giulia's has a live vibe, good modern decor, excellent... read more

I live nearby this place. All of my neighbors just love it, but I don't get it. Its OK but not really special.

We've been at Giulia for dinner and we can absolutely say that this cannot be considered a good italian restaurant. And too too expensive for this quality of the food. The starter: oyster were totally coverd by a mixture of vegetables and it was impossible to feel the real taste.. We had a lobster tortelli completely lost inside mushrooms and... More

My wife and I had failed to get a reservation here on several occasions but finally managed to get a last minute opening. It was well worth the effort. We ordered the tasting menu with accompanying wines, a wonderful choice. Everything was fantastic; the pasta with small clams was a standout. We observed people eating at the bar and concluded... There's a reason why this place is nearly impossible to get in to. The chow is very good here... especially the pastas and the amazing veg dishes. The bucatini and the ravioli were superb tonight. Seating, table spacing makes it a bit uncomfortable but doesn't deter foodies.

I rarely go out for italian food because most places give u pre-made boiled pasta. I can buy that from a grocery store and do a good job home but this place is different . Very fresh pasta, each and every staff member is kind and courteous like a restaurant should be the portions are small but still worth it... More

We went on a Wednesday summer night very easy to park anywhere from Harvard law coop and next few blocks Had 6:15 reservations but were able to get seated around 5:45. Very casual, my son even wore "dressy" shorts Our waiter was so knowledgable he suggested ordering 2 sfizzi (small plates) then an appetizer a pasta dish to share then... More

It is a hard reservation to get but well worth the effort to plan ahead. The food and service are wonderful. The wine list is good although the wines by the glass could be better. Parking can be a challenge if you are not a Cambridge resident. I often bring guests there who are foodies and everyone has loved it.

Last night we had dinner at Giulia, bringing a discerning couple who had never been there. We had a little trepidation, as the man is a chef, and his wife a foodie. This was actually the second time we had brought a chef to Giulia, and in both instances, the restaurant passed with flying colors. Giulia is a food destination---just... More

Make that reservation because it's worth it! Cozy atmosphere with immaculate but not obtrusive service. The semolina cakes were so light and airy. Wine list very approachable with sommelier in house. The wild boar pasta has so much depth without being heavy. Lobster tortelli so light and fresh. Save room for dessert. The house made gelatos are supreme especially paired... More
