Ramen is ok

Came here for the ramen on two different occasions. It's decent and the portions are good. However, the broth is loaded with salt and MSG. It has no natural flavors and its super thick. Thick as in too much salt. Real ramen broth should be clear, not yellow like this. Noodles were chewy and... read more

Just a 10-15' walk north of Harvard Sq even in the blizzard (or just a block south of the Porter Sq T stop), this ramen destination is a bit hard to find - it's inside the Porter Sq shop complex that co-houses part of Lesley Univ. Once you enter from Mass Ave, it's around the corner on the left, in... More

My girlfriend and i decided to eat here so we were waiting in line to be seated. This Chinese waitress talked to the customers waiting in front of us in Chinese with laughing and looked all happy.10 minutes after they were seated the waitress looked at us and told us 'restaurant closed'. There was no apologizing. So i kinda complained... More

Sapporo is a nondescript, crowded hole in the wall in Porter Square in Cambridge, MA. Decor is parsimonious, tables are very close together, some of which have folding chairs, service is poor, with only one server, who happened to misplace my order leading to an hour long wait from the time we stood in line. The clientele was mostly comprised... More

Several Japanese restaurant stalls are located in the old sears building and Sapporo is a gem among them as evidenced by the long lines. Persevere! It is well worth the wait. Service is friendly and efficient and the soups are out of this world!

I don't live far from this place, which is a blessing and a curse. There is a really long line but you can't go wrong. It's absolutely worth it. Their meat gyoza is much better than their veggie one. But then again, you're not here for the appetizers. We usually get the house ramen. I've tried the miso, the spicy... More

These are large bowls of soup with noodles, vegetables and meat, and very well prepared. We go almost every weekend, really enjoy it. The only down side is there is usually a long line and the wait can be up 45 minutes to get seated. Although they will be opening a new location in Central Square soon.

My family came to enjoy and thrive on soba shop ramen when living in Japan 36 years ago. For old times' sake our visiting and eldest son treated his mother and me to bowls of steaming pork ramen with extra noodles in a chicken based broth on a chilly noontime last Monday. We all had the same order from a... More

Nothing beats a Ramen when you feel a good cold coming on. This one hit the spot and a day after eating here my cold is gone. This place is by Porter Square and the little shopping mall. They have parking behind the building if you happen to drive. Parking for an hour is a mere $1 - big bonus.... More

I had a hankering for some yummy ramen, so we trudged over to Porter Square from Wayland, MA and were lucky to get a parking spot at the shopping center. Sapporo is inside the shopping area so just go inside the main entrance for 1815 Mass Ave. The line had about 10 people in front of us and we waited... More
