We were ignored for 15 minutes when we first sat down. Service was poor. The food was unusually spiced and interesting. It was so hot and dark In there, that I couldn't wait to leave. They only take cash. It's not a place I'd want to go back to.

On a quiet side street in Cambridge is this cozy Tunisian restaurant dripping with atmosphere. The owner is incredibly friendly and loves to talk to all the customers about her country, her food and everything else. Having been to Morrocco, I ordered a braised lamb shank tagine. It came so tender it fell off the bone and was surrounded by... More

Being Tunisian, when i knew there was a tunisian algerian restaurant i wanted to try it out of curiosity, just to see how it compares to tunisian food in tunisia. what a great surprise! i had a couscous brochette and that was one of the best couscous i ever had! they also serve a local lemonade made with rose petals,... Went there with family to celebrate our daughter's graduation from college. I had an eggplant dish and others took chicken and lamb. We all enjoyed the food. Owners are working in this restaurant. They can be a bit overwhelmed with a crowded place and that was one of those busy nights. However, it was OK and we were not bothered... More

Great selection of authentic Algerian/Tunisian dishes, moderate prices, quiet location, vegetarian friendly meals, generous portions and great service! Will be back for sure.

We wanted a different cuisine that we could walk to from Central Square. The food was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming. The cheesecake specialty was worth savoring.

Not really 'African' food but Algerian-Tunisian cuisine. We have arrived on a weekend close to 4pm, which is their closing time, so we had to order fast. The place is relatively small and I guess that when it is full it is kind of hard to maneuver around the place. We had an Open-face tuna Sandwiches which was very good... More

We went to Baraka after dropping our daughter off for college. Walking in we were a little unsure--it's a tiny spot with only a few tables. The hostess, a gregarious woman in flowing Muslim attire, was very friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. We started with a carafe of the much-touted lemonade, which was indeed tasty, and shared an... More

We ventured here out of curiosity and we will most certainly return. The owners are from North Africa and offer a cuisine not commonly encountered here. I had the white and dark meat dish, a skewer of chicken, lamb and a spiced sausage. All were excellent and served with a generous salad and thin cut fries floating in a piquant... More

I was so excited to try this place, but it was really disappointing. It took 10 minutes before anyone came to talk to us after being seated. We ordered appetizers and entrees and it was another 30 minutes for appetizers and over an hour and a half for entrees. The appetizer was really tasty but I was starving by the... More
