Good food with a young scene

The enchiladas were good but the chips were far too salty. The tacos, beans and rice were all good but some of the chicken tasted a bit salty as well. The prices were very reasonable but be prepared for a College age crowd that can be a bit loud!

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food - it's so hit or miss. BUT, Border Cafe is definitely the exception. Maybe it's because they combine Cajun with Mexican. The huge lines are indicative of the overall experience; it's worth waiting for. The food is delightful. (My favorites are the corn and black bean empanadas and the chicken pastelitos. The... More

I eat here at least once a month and have never had a bad meal. The freshly made chips are delicious with the salsa. I usually get something simple for lunch, I've not tried the fancier "dinner" type options but greatly enjoy my visit.

The sea food enchilada was delicious. The chicken was too salty and almost uneatable. Margaritas not really strong enough. Mixed reviews but a fun place.

Went to the Border Café with family on a return trip to Boston after being away for many years and saw it was as popular as ever with the denizens of Harvard Square! Chips and salsa and cold margaritas kicked things off for tasty Tex-Mex and Cajun offerings. Appreciated the option for a side a jambalaya instead of rice and... More

Good food for cheap, great for large parties. They have large sitting area in the basement. It's a bit claustrophobic. It's hard to hear your own voice sometimes. Not a good place for quiet conversations.

We love tex-mex/cajun foods. Their gumbo is excellent, their margarita's are excellent, and seafood enchiladas are awesome. The prices are fantastic, especially for Harvard Square. We always eat here when we go to Cambridge.

The food here is tasty but nothing to really rave about. The portions are big and the salsa and chips are yummy.

4 grownups, 2 huge teens and an 11 year old filled a huge huge booth with food and laughter. We danced to the music, goofed around and ate, shared food and ate more. The food is perfect and plentiful. Margaritas tasty, refreshing and the chips are fresh and addictive. I live the music, the vibe and we laughed. Really great... More

It has been 20 years since I've been here but the food and the drinks are still first rate. We knew we were in good shape when we walked through the door and there was a waiting line to get a table at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. We went to the bar and enjoyed a drink while we waited... More
