Big portions

The food here is tasty but nothing to really rave about. The portions are big and the salsa and chips are yummy.

4 grownups, 2 huge teens and an 11 year old filled a huge huge booth with food and laughter. We danced to the music, goofed around and ate, shared food and ate more. The food is perfect and plentiful. Margaritas tasty, refreshing and the chips are fresh and addictive. I live the music, the vibe and we laughed. Really great... More

It has been 20 years since I've been here but the food and the drinks are still first rate. We knew we were in good shape when we walked through the door and there was a waiting line to get a table at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. We went to the bar and enjoyed a drink while we waited... More

This is what a Mexican restaurant is supposed to be! Fantastic service - amazing chips and salsa - and Swordfish Tacos that were simply the BEST fish tacos I have ever had anywhere in the world. Food was fresh, hot, timely - service was impeccable. Margaritas were huge - and a great value for Cambridge! Run - don't walk -... More

Went here late for a quick bite. The food is an eclectic mix of Tex-Mex, Cajun and some more typical American fare. At 11pm the service was quick and attentive, the margaritas tasty. Our food was delivered in a timely way, it was tasty and portion size was good. Reviewers have noted it can be loud, and it is definitely... More

This place is definitely for young people who like a noisy atmosphere. Portions are large. Wine is mediocre.

Border Cafe, is a Tex-Mex food place. One of the primary reasons I like this place is that, being a Mexican food place, they still have their own set of food options, which are different from the usual stuff like 'Enchiladas', 'Quesedillas', etc that you find typically at any Mexican food place. They also have a lot of seafood options,... More

Great place centrally located in Harvard Square to get together with friends. Free tortilla chips and salsa in addition to a reasonably priced menu make this a great budget place.

We have been to other Border Cafes and the menu and the decor are basically the same. It is a casual place and hardly intimate and if you are looking for fine dining and a romantic setting, go elsewhere. What we were visiting our daughter in Boston and decided to go to the Cambridge location for lunch. As always we had... More

Two of us had a dinner with multiple margaritas for $70 in this bustling Cajun-Mexican spot just off of Harvard Square. For years the Border Cafe has been a go to place for me to take groups (especially a celebratory lunch). There is basically nothing on the menu I cannot recommend but my favorites are the Cajun popcorn and beef... More
