I have been going to the Border Cafe every year for my birthday since I was a kid. The food is well made and the service is fast. The portions are very good, not way to much but certainly enough. The free chips and salsa are the best I have had in the New England area. The margaritas are very... More

So glad I gave this place a try, it was great! The food offered Mexican, yet it also bordered(pun intended) on American fare also. House Margarita was perfect for six dollars. Most importantly, staff seemed very cordial and attentive. Loved the music too!

My nephew has a food allergy. We called in advance and Chef Jerry patiently listened and then told us that he would prepare a meal, which would work for him. Went to the restaurant on early Saturday evening. The restaurant was overflowing with people. Could see more people than food. Nice festive environment. A seating area for hungry visitors would... It’s a given that you have to empty your bank account to visit Cambridge, but this LOUD, fun, delicious, high energy college dive is an experience not to miss. The food’s also cheap (for Cambridge, where the hotels can run you $400+ a night) and the humongous portions will feed an army, or... one college freshman. Go, enjoy, it’s fun... More

This place is right next to Harvard University. They serve Mexican and Cajun food. We came for lunch around 1:30 on a Monday. The atmosphere is great with music that's loud enough to hear but not too loud that you need to shout to be heard. Our server Miguel G was amazing. To start off we were given chips and... More

When the cravings hit, this is the first place I think of. Of course, the restaurant is not a place that serves jaw-dropping, critics-raving kind of food, but it nonetheless has been faithful to quench the munchies numerous times. From unlimited chip and salsa refills to the ooey-gooey cheesy burro to the extremely filling fajita, you really do get bang... More

What can you say about this landmark? It's been there since I believe I was ever conscious of Harvard Square, it looks exactly the same, the place always stinks of grilled meat, is loud, the service is so so, the menu, really nothing special, the food, average but for some reason every time I am there, I love the experience.... This place was so good I went twice on my trip! If you love Mexican you'll love this place! It's just off the square! I tried the cheese enchilada and the bean burro and I can't decide which I like more! I highly recommend!!!!!

I have not been here in many years and happened to walk by Saturday and decided to revisit. I am sure glad I did. The prices are very budget friendly. When I sat down the place was only about half full but filled quickly., I was brought a basket of fantastic chips and salsa. The chips tasted as if they... More
