Smelly, loud, delicious, and margaritas

This chain restaurant does not disappoint, from the hot chips and salsa and the massive menu (clear vegetarian section) to the hokey decore and the kick butt margaritas. Just don't go there wearing anything you care about because it will stink for days.

Very busy place. We had a chicken and beef burro. The food was good, service was great. Lots of hot taco chips and salsa.

In my experience, the Border is kind of a love it or hate it experience. It's atypical from a lot of Mexican restaurants, but what it does well it does really well. The quesadilla should be a no brainer, but it's a sloppy mess. The fajitas are way too rustic for me, hardly-cooked overlarge veggies and burnt meat. But the... More

We stumbled across this restaurant on a weeknight before a performance. It's an unusual Mexican/Cajun combination. Margaritas were he preferred drink, but we ordered a bottle of red wine and it was good and very affordable. we ordered a salmon dinner and Mexican dinner, both were excellent. This is a busy restaurant, right off Harvard Square with a separate bar... More

Spacious place, never had a problem being seated with parties of 6-8 people. Food was good, felt fresh across the menu. Nothing outstanding, good or bad. Big portions, fairly inexpensive for Cambridge, MA, decent vegetarian options. Mixed drinks OK, beer selection - like any other Mexican restaurant I visited - abysmal. But that's to be expected. Toddlers readily accommodated. Could... More

Harvard cafeteria is not the best place to eat.. If you're a student looking for a good night without having to get to Boston: you are served sir! Fun and good food not expensive at all!!

Had an early dinner last week at Border Cafe after taking our grandsons to the Museum of Science and then for a walk around Harvard Square. A favorite place when I worked in Cambridge, and still as good as ever. Efficient and friendly waitstaff. Warm chips and salsa, as much as you want is complementary. margaritas along with a full... Border Cafe is located right in the heart of Cambridge near/in Harvard. The portions are very large. Prices were very reasonable and the chips tasted amazing!

Border Cafe is a great place to go with friends for a meal or a drink. Their food is delicious and reasonably priced - much better than most other food places in the Square! It gets very crowded on the weekends, so I would recommend going on a weeknight or for lunch.

The enchiladas were good but the chips were far too salty. The tacos, beans and rice were all good but some of the chicken tasted a bit salty as well. The prices were very reasonable but be prepared for a College age crowd that can be a bit loud!
