Border has a dedicated following. I have college friends who, while living abroad, have requested Visitors to bring Border with them. My brother, who first discovered Border 20 years ago and is now a bona fide foodie, still refers to Border as "the best restaurant ever," and you can't quite tell if he is kidding or not. The food is... More

Try the Black bean and corn empanadas, Gaucho chicken, or the Beef Burro, but plan to ask for half of it to be wrapped for carry-out with the big portion sizes.

Inexpensive, casual and fun are three words to describe "Border Café" just outside Harvard Square. Always loud, always crowded, the food is consistent, the chips & salsa fresh, the Sangria carries a 'kick' to it and the Margarita's are potent! Wait staff are friendly, never rushing you even when there is a line out the door(which is often). A great... More

We had a party of 38 and the staff handled it very well, except for one meal that was MIA. They eventually got it from the kitchen and didn't charge us....The meals were good sized and hot, and fresh. and it wasn't expensive at all.

The Border is my restaurant for everything. Girls night out, a date, an evening with the family, whatever. The place serves you hot fresh made tortilla chips and salsa the moment you sit, or while you wait. The waiters are friendly and efficient. I've been going for 19 years and have never once had a single complaint. The food is... More

I am not a fan of Mexican food but my niece loves Border Cafe. We went on a busy Thursday night and it was the week of Harvard Graduation so it was super crowded. After about a 15 minute wait we were seated downstairs. I had chicken taco and cheese enchilada and my niece had cheese enchiladas. The meals were... More

Great location in Harvard Square, fresh guacamole, quick service, good margs and very reasonable prices....what more could you ask for out of a Tex-Mex joint?!

Been a few times for delicious mexican (or texmex?). Thurs or weekend nights you'll be standing in line for a while, but the chips are worth it. I've heard good things about the margaritas but haven't tried myself.

The food is great! from the chips to the food. it is a tad loud so if you want somewhere romantic dont go here. but a casual place is perfect.

The staff!! Even though its an amazingly busy place anytime of day you are never at the mercy of a grumpy staff member. I don't agree with others that say its gone downhill, I've been an under the radar regular here for years & its just as tasty as the first time. Texas margarita on the rocks is my staple... More
