Description: Rialto is a welcoming gathering place for the community and Charles Hotel guests. James Beard award-winning chef and owner Jody Adams embraces New England ingredients with regional Italian culinary traditions. Kitchen focus hops to a different region each month and features dishes like Ricotta gnocchi with sage brown butter and red kuri squash and our Grilled swordfish with Friulian bean stew, white wine braised cabbage and house cured bacon. Patrons enter the restaurant via a white stone path inspired by an ancient Roman road, passing by the illuminated onyx bar into the dining room. Curved banquettes and cozy nooks invite intimate conversation while pumpkin, olive and white draperies evoke the warm colors of the Italian countryside. In 2009, Rialto opened a 28-seat terrace offering guests an al fresco dining option. The Boston Globe awarded Rialto a coveted four stars in three consecutive reviews and Gourmet Magazine named it one of the "World's Top Hotel Restaurants". Rialto offers two classically elegant, private spaces, ideal for wedding receptions, business meetings, recruiting events, celebratory parties, and more.

Have eaten here quite a few times and it never disappoints. The dining room has flowing white curtains and a zen like, elegant feel. Service is discreet but very attentive. The manager checks on every party. The food is fit for "foodies", and beautifully presented. Would make an excellent "special occasion" place, or if you want to impress the in-laws!... More

While spending a night at Cambridge as part of a college visits with our daughter, My husband and I decided to return to the Rialto after a pleasant experience two years ago. What a HUGE mistake. Our experience was so bad that it is hardly worth my time in reviewing it, however, I hope this will prevent others from making... More

I went to Rialto to celebrate my graduation with my friends. Service and food were great. The server and manager visited our table. I asked them to recommend the popular food in the place. They explained well to help me choose menu. I had poached lobster, was DELICIOUS!! We also had chocolate crema for desert. It was the best with... More

Rialto has brought back its great bar - got rid of the horrible chairs, etc. Although still miss the comfortable high back chairs from years ago. That said - the wine selection is fantastic, be sure to ask for the bread sticks. And the bar food is perfect.

We had a nice meal with two very different pasta dishes. This is not your meatball and spaghetti type of menu. One dish was bucatini with lobster and one was a pasta with a spicy red sauce with shredded pork. The menu included many fish dishes and some meat or chicken choices. We were a little disappointed that we could... More

I took my family (10 of us) recently to celebrate my daughter's college graduation. At the end of the meal, the restaurant double-charged me for the $150 plus (20%) service charge. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, he confidently told me that I was wrong, but came back a few minutes later with the proper bill.... More

This is a beautiful place with great atmosphere in a great location. Many of their dishes are very well done. The gnoocchi and bucatini were both very good. My son and I ordered the sirloin with slivers of parmigiano reggiano on top. We asked our waiter who said this was a "signature" dish. We ordered medium rare and it was... More

While stylish and professionally run, the caliber of the cooking was shockingly poor: from nervously shaved transparent slivers of sopressata buoyed up by a few meager fava beans and greens ( this was entitled "House Salumi") to a perfectly good halibut filet served in green bath water into which I suspect an herbal tea bag had been broken ("Pan Roasted... We had an exceptional meal tonight at Rialto. Every dish was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. baby artichokes with fava beans and mixed greens, fish chowder served with spicy aioli, crostini and parmasan, gorgeous grilled halibut and bucatini with lobster and tomatoes. two hours later, my mouth still waters thinking about it. The service was outstanding. the tuscan bread... More
