Description: Rialto is a welcoming gathering place for the community and Charles Hotel...
Rialto is a welcoming gathering place for the community and Charles Hotel guests. James Beard award-winning chef and owner Jody Adams embraces New England ingredients with regional Italian culinary traditions. Kitchen focus hops to a different region each month and features dishes like Ricotta gnocchi with sage brown butter and red kuri squash and our Grilled swordfish with Friulian bean stew, white wine braised cabbage and house cured bacon. Patrons enter the restaurant via a white stone path inspired by an ancient Roman road, passing by the illuminated onyx bar into the dining room. Curved banquettes and cozy nooks invite intimate conversation while pumpkin, olive and white draperies evoke the warm colors of the Italian countryside. In 2009, Rialto opened a 28-seat terrace offering guests an al fresco dining option. The Boston Globe awarded Rialto a coveted four stars in three consecutive reviews and Gourmet Magazine named it one of the "World's Top Hotel Restaurants". Rialto offers two classically elegant, private spaces, ideal for wedding receptions, business meetings, recruiting events, celebratory parties, and more.

Excellent, Eligant, Relaxed!

The Rialto restaurant is top of the line in everything ... Food, service, atmosphere. It is on the quite expensive side but worth it!

Our family went for Thanksgiving dinner. Of course, the restaurant was full and people dining before us were dawdling over their dinners. Therefore, we waited almost an hour for a table. We were a little frustrated because we were shown a table that was ostensibly being set for us. (It turns out, they ran out of clean silverware… busy night.)... More

Fond memories from a number of visits and celebrations over the past 15 years were not to be relived. I dropped in for 930 pm dinner during 4-day hotel stay. Restaurant and bar room temperature were frigid, with outside temperature at 26 F. Yet nobody seemed to care even with guests sitting at the table in their winter coats. Service... More

Their Oyster Monday was used to be pretty good. But the quality has gone down recently. But it's still a nice place to hang out.

The place was gorgeous and perfect for a date or a business meeting. The oysters were on point: fresh and delicious. The waiters were very attentive throughout the evening. I ordered the swordfish with vegetables, and the meat was soft and moist. They also have 3 course options for a flat fee. I definitely recommend.

We dined at the Rialto Restaurant after a long flight across the country. I made this reservation after reading about the restaurant in Atul Gawande's book, The Checklist Manifesto--an atypical and perhaps curious route to a fine dining experience. We shared insalata and octopus before each having seafood stew anchored by a half lobster as the main-course. We shared an... More

We ate at the bar last night using the bar menu. All the food we got was not fresh feeling and nothing was served hot. The mussels, all eight of them, came in a not so warm broth. The duck sandwich was mostly bread with some inedible duck inside with almost nothing else. The fries were so crisp that it... More

Chef Jody Adams has been working her culinary magic for decades with marvelous blends of flavors at Rialto, which features Italian food. Her appetizers are to die for.

Stopped into Rialto at the Charles Hotel as I was meeting my husband in Boston after work and noted that they had $1 oysters on Mondays. We were not disappointed as the quality of the oysters was such that we wound up going through 3 dozen by the time we were through. (we wanted to save room for dinner or... More

The salad was fresh. Ravioli was excellent. The pork entree was to die for. Good combination of food, ambiance and service.
