Description: Rialto is a welcoming gathering place for the community and Charles Hotel...
Rialto is a welcoming gathering place for the community and Charles Hotel guests. James Beard award-winning chef and owner Jody Adams embraces New England ingredients with regional Italian culinary traditions. Kitchen focus hops to a different region each month and features dishes like Ricotta gnocchi with sage brown butter and red kuri squash and our Grilled swordfish with Friulian bean stew, white wine braised cabbage and house cured bacon. Patrons enter the restaurant via a white stone path inspired by an ancient Roman road, passing by the illuminated onyx bar into the dining room. Curved banquettes and cozy nooks invite intimate conversation while pumpkin, olive and white draperies evoke the warm colors of the Italian countryside. In 2009, Rialto opened a 28-seat terrace offering guests an al fresco dining option. The Boston Globe awarded Rialto a coveted four stars in three consecutive reviews and Gourmet Magazine named it one of the "World's Top Hotel Restaurants". Rialto offers two classically elegant, private spaces, ideal for wedding receptions, business meetings, recruiting events, celebratory parties, and more.

Good, but not nearly as good as it used to be.

When we dined at Rialto 2 years ago, we were blown away by the creativity and the quality of the offerings. Not this time. The artichoke and the clam appetizers seemed to be the best, and the primi pasta coins were good. But my half duck main course was so overcooked and dry that I couldn't eat it... read more

Summer Dine Out 2015 menu offered 3 courses for a very reasonable price. The white gazpacho with almonds and white grapes was superb even though I couldn't detect the smoked bluefish listed as an ingredient. Our mains-one had braised chicken thighs, the other-pan roasted bluefish - were impeccable, paired with top-of-the-season fresh vegetables. Each flavor was clearly distinct. The flourless... More

We were really looking forward to dining at Rialto on a hot summer evening...however, the restaurant just didn't live up to its reputation. I've long admired Jody Adams, but have never been able to get to Rialto. At this stage, the restaurant is definitely settling on its reputation. We shared a pasta course and then the grileld tuscan steak and... More

If you have not dined at Rialto lately, as we had not, beware that their prices have gone through the roof. And, not because anything has really changed here. Rent must be ridiculous. After all, it is in the heart of Harvard territory. And, in the Charles Hotel. But regardless, the food is not that special. Service and atmosphere are... More

We loved it! my husband had been here 20 years ago so he urged us to go back. We had dinner with my young sons. It was one of the best dinners ever. Despite being in new york last week eating at some of the best restaurants, this was the highlight. We had a soups and truly amazing pasta. It... More

My wife and I had dinner here on a Boston food-crawl during June 2015. Everything was great, but still it wasn't perfect. We picked Rialto from TripAdvisor reviews. The food was legitimately great (oysters, pulpo, corset, pasta al nero (seriously stupidly great!), scallops, lamb... the wine (Willamette pinot!!) was über-great. But we sort of felt like we were having dinner... More

My wife and I returned for anniversary dinner. Food wears excellent, just the right proportions, well served. Table had small anniversary decoration. Swordfish entrees fresh and just right. A real treat all the way round. Even had a chance to chat with Jodi Adams.

My husband and arrived at the hotel late and hungry due to a delayed flight. All other restaurants in the area had closed for the night. But our waiter at the Rialto suggested a couple items that were NOT on the menu, saying he was quite sure they could serve them up to us. He came through and we were... More

Boston tries sooi hard to to be a great restaurant city..and Rialto has tried to be at the forefront. But alas it comes up short soo often i have decided never to return When you spend 100 per person for dinner you expect great ambience , great service and of course great food Tables at Rialto come in two flavors... I've had some wonderful special occasion meals at Rialto over the years, but this review is for the bar...and Monday night $1 Oysters. Three of us thoroughly enjoyed our three dozen bivalve molluscs. The waiter's wine recommendation, an Italian white that had a nice lemony finish, was spot on for our oyster-fest. The duck sandwich was superb, the calamari was... More
