Description: Rialto is a welcoming gathering place for the community and Charles Hotel...
Rialto is a welcoming gathering place for the community and Charles Hotel guests. James Beard award-winning chef and owner Jody Adams embraces New England ingredients with regional Italian culinary traditions. Kitchen focus hops to a different region each month and features dishes like Ricotta gnocchi with sage brown butter and red kuri squash and our Grilled swordfish with Friulian bean stew, white wine braised cabbage and house cured bacon. Patrons enter the restaurant via a white stone path inspired by an ancient Roman road, passing by the illuminated onyx bar into the dining room. Curved banquettes and cozy nooks invite intimate conversation while pumpkin, olive and white draperies evoke the warm colors of the Italian countryside. In 2009, Rialto opened a 28-seat terrace offering guests an al fresco dining option. The Boston Globe awarded Rialto a coveted four stars in three consecutive reviews and Gourmet Magazine named it one of the "World's Top Hotel Restaurants". Rialto offers two classically elegant, private spaces, ideal for wedding receptions, business meetings, recruiting events, celebratory parties, and more.

A Very Good Hotel Restaurant

Interesting menu, nicely prepared. A bit pricey for what you get; but far above most hotel restaurants.

We had dinner at Rialto last night. Have been there many times in past but not for a while. Our memories served us well as the meal was fantastic, the service excellent and the setting warm, welcoming, and elegant. All great reasons to go there and to return many times.

The poor rating is especially in light of the price. I wouldn't begrudge the prices if I felt that one was really getting a special experience and outstanding food in return, but sadly that is not the case. The best parts of the meal were the bread basket with olive oil and two out of three of the desserts. The... More

On a recent trip to Cambridge, we ate at this restaurant twice -- the first time, because it was late, we were starving, and it was convenient, the second time because it was amazing food, and everyone wanted what someone else had the night before! The Rialto is located in The Charles Hotel (great place to stay in Cambridge, reviewed... More

I had a gift certificate to Rialto and it was time to use it. I took a good friend. With tip, our bill came to $260. So it is expensive, but the food and wine are definitely worth the splurge. We started with some appetizers. My friend got the grilled oysters and andouille sausage. I got to try one and... More

This is a great place for a special night out. It's not cheap, but the quality is good. Portions are small, but I was surprisingly full. I quite enjoyed the vegetarian menu options. Service was very polite and professional.

Incredibly good food, but prices are excessive, even for the quality. Slightly stuffy (this place takes itself very seriously).

This place is not cheap, but the food is fantastic and the presentation is beautiful. I have been to this restaurant several times and it never stops to amaze me! Is it not family friendly atmosphere but it is very nice ambient for couples and adults! I like going there to celebrate something important. They have fantastic service and fantastic... More

I was not impressed. I have dinner all over the US and overseas and this dinner was ho-hum and so, so over priced. Maybe it was due to the time factor: 7pm on Thanksgiving night, the staff and the food were tired. Expectations were not achieved. Since this was a prix fix dinner, starting at $85, I had expected a... More

I came for a business dinner held in a private room, about 25 people. The room was pleasant and quiet. Service was suitably attentive. Our preselected menu offered limited variety, but that's normal for this type of event. There were four courses, with suitably adjusted portions. I didn't particularly like the risotto, but my arctic char came with very cripsy... More
