Description: The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean...
The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Our seasonally changing menus features a variety seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes, many of which are prepared with greens and vegetables from our organic farm in Winchendon, MA. In crafting the restaurant's menu, owner Paul Overgaag and executive chef Marc Plourde have chosen to bring fresh organic foods and locally produced ingredients to center stage. In addition to our main dining room and bar-area, the Red House also contains three intimate private dining rooms which can comfortably seat between 8 and 14 guests. Perfect for your next family or business gathering, each of our three private rooms features authentic period detail, with fireplaces and original wide pine floorboards and woodwork. Additionally, we are able to provide customized-set menus for private diners and events as needed.

Yummy Oysters !

Called in for pre dinner drinks and oysters and we were not disappointed. A really cute place and the bar staff were attentive and jovial. Oysters were shucked really well. Wish we had been in Boston longer - would've tried the full menu. Will return next time tho.

Enjoyed a great selection of appetizers instead of one main meal for one of our party. Goats cheese and zucchini frittata could have been a meal in itself. Mushrooms in phyllo pastry the same- light and yummy pastry but filling mushroom concotion was delicious along with an outstanding vermouth cream sauce. And one more thing the asparagus and roasted tomato... More

This is the worst restaurant I've been to in years. The service was terrible - no way to chill a bottle of wine until I went to the bar and begged for a solution, no oysters despite the fact that they were advertised as the special on the blackboard outside. The food was abysmal - poorly presented, gross looking really,... More

Went here for lunch with 3 Cambridge locals of whom two loved the dozen oysters for $6 offer. And it was very much worth it. Not only the oysters but also the rest of the food were excellent. Paired with great conversation, we had an awesome time and stayed for nearly 200 min ...

We called to make sure this was not a typo; it isn't. But if you only want oysters and drinks, you will only be served in the smallish bar, so get there early. We will certainly go back for dinner.

My friend from Chicago came to visit me in Boston before I returned to Indonesia. Usually I kept passing by the Red House in Cambridge during the heavy snowstorm, but it was either closed or piled with snowbanks. When spring came, my friend asked me to have lunch with her there. It was a beautiful restaurant with very heartwarming ambience... More

Ate here on 20 May 2015. Great price for oysters and the swordfish was delicious. Service a bit slow but it was quite busy which is maybe why.

On a recent trip to Cambridge I stopped by for lunch. The outdoor patio is cute and offers plenty of sun and shade spots. The wine was good and specialty drink list had plenty of unique drinks which was refreshing. I had the perfect pair which was light, fruity and refreshing which was perfect on a sunny, warm day. The... More

If you love voices this is the only place to go in Massachusetts. before 6 p.m. everyday you can get magnificent Oysters for $1 each. They are served ice cold with all the necessary condiments. These would have cost $2.95 each at any other restaurant. The entrees are also quite good and the service was very friendly. during the good... More
