The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Our seasonally changing menus features a variety seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes, many of which are prepared with greens and vegetables from our organic farm in Winchendon, MA. Great find

Really great atmosphere! Food and service were both great, they have local beer on tap. I enjoyed the lobster ravioli and am going back tomorrow to something else. Stop by, you will not be disappointed

On a side street in Harvard Square. Convenient. In winter a warm fire in one of the rooms of this old building. In the summer tables on the outside deck. Always relaxing.Food good, not great. Waitstaff helpful. I live in the neighborhood and go the Red House often.

The Red House is a great place for lunch. Nice homey atmosphere with a wood fire going in the front room and a skylight in the back room. Lobster chowder was excellent. Oysters were a real value at $0.50 each.

I really wanted to like the Red House. It's in a convenient place, and if you go when it isn't crowded (as we did, for an early lunch), it's possible to have a peaceful conversation. The staff were perfectly OK. But that's it. The oysters were very inexpensive, a loss leader at $.50 each, so the fact that they came... More

As the name of the place suggest, the setting is an old house. As such, the tables are set in different small rooms. This can lead to things being a little tight space-wise and noisy acoustics-wise, but it is overall a pleasant environment (unless you are seated next to an especially boisterous party). The food is wll prepared and the... More

My husband and I recently had a delicious meal in this cozy and inviting restaurant on a small side street in Cambridge. It's an easy walk from Harvard Square and leaving behind that bustle and confusion to find this oasis of an old home turned into a restaurant is sheer delight. There are two fireplaces, one in "the front room"... More

Great little restaurant with a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. We sat on the roof-top patio, on a warm summer night. Everyone was extremely happy with the service and the food. My Mom, who has a bad seafood allergy, was well-looked after and assured they took care in preparing her dish. I had the stuffed lobster, which was delicious. I was a... More

super cute pace. we went for the oyster deal: 2 for 1$, tuesday to sunday, 12pm to 6pm. sat at a table by the fireplace and had a nice cocktail and the oysters, together with artichokes and kale chips (these I didn't like so much, but the artichokes were divine!) cosy, very busy, but nice for some cheap oysters:)

On a very busy weekend, I went in person to request a reservation. After a bit of persistent negotiation, we took advantage of a cancelation. Chilly night. Roaring fire. Two lowly lit dining rooms in an old house. Charming. Nice wine list. Pinot from Languedoc with venison in juniper berries. Brussel sprouts wrapped in bacon and crab cakes for starters.... More

The setting is cozy and amazing. The food was fantastic, everything tasted fresh. The risotto and lobster were great.
