Description: The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean...
The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Our seasonally changing menus features a variety seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes, many of which are prepared with greens and vegetables from our organic farm in Winchendon, MA. In crafting the restaurant's menu, owner Paul Overgaag and executive chef Marc Plourde have chosen to bring fresh organic foods and locally produced ingredients to center stage. In addition to our main dining room and bar-area, the Red House also contains three intimate private dining rooms which can comfortably seat between 8 and 14 guests. Perfect for your next family or business gathering, each of our three private rooms features authentic period detail, with fireplaces and original wide pine floorboards and woodwork. Additionally, we are able to provide customized-set menus for private diners and events as needed.

If you love voices this is the only place to go in Massachusetts. before 6 p.m. everyday you can get magnificent Oysters for $1 each. They are served ice cold with all the necessary condiments. These would have cost $2.95 each at any other restaurant. The entrees are also quite good and the service was very friendly. during the good... More

I had lobster and it was fantastic, but my husband had a different dish which he didn't like at all. The service was a bit slow, but we were in a private dining area, and our server did the best she could with no additional help. We were a group of 12, so she had her hands full.

Very good food at fair price in Harvard Square. Oysters are fifty cents in the afternoon and a dollar at dinner. Not as noisy as most places

Had lunch here this past Sun. It is definitely a lunch place, not a brunch place. Some nice outdoor seating, very pleasant atmosphere. If you are a lobster junkie, this is the place. 5 different lobster dishes. I had the lobster quesadilla, large chunks of lobster with black beans and mango salsa, quite good. The grilled chicken salad was generous... More

I order the scallops for lunch, there was only 1 scallop in my plate cut in 3 pieces. I will never come back. Overpriced, i got one glass of Sam Adams for $6. They took log time to serve my single scallop plate. Terrible service and food. Don't waste your money and time.

Although the atmosphere was nice and the service was prompt, this place has mediocre to poor food. My friend and I were both a bit confounded at the preparation of the dishes. The ingredients were of good quality but the preparation and presentation were sub par. Our waitress was attentive enough but being a college student who did not appear... More

Every time I'm in town, I stop by for beer and the 50 cent oysters. There is no better way to spend an hour in the afternoon in Cambridge MA.

Delicious wine always hits the spot. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday evening, even at 6:15, so the service was delayed. Seemed to take forever to get our bar order, but after that things ran smoothly. What we ordered was tasty. All four of us had appetizer portions due to the early hour of our reservation. That was a... More

Came here for lunch and had a very good meal. They have a great deal when we were there for oysters. It was 2 for a dollar and if we had more time, I would have eaten 2 dozen on my own. The place is quite quaint and had a good selection of lobster dishes, which I was excited for.... More
