The #1 place in Cambridge?

Yes, I understand, people like chocolate. But there are better places to get chocolate desserts. My wife had the iced chocolate drink, which she liked a lot. We also had the chocolate mocha cake, which tasted more like sugar and butter than chocolate or coffee. The raspberry tart (or... read more

Milk hot chocolate was rich and delicious. Macarons were not as good as anticipated -- overly sweet and not true to the promised flavours.

Whilst doing my fellowship at the Harvard Medical School, I also had the opportunity to attend classes at Harvard Cambridge which gave me the opportunity to explore the areas near Harvard Square. One of them was exploring cafes to enjoy before or after classes. I went to L.A.Burdick on Brattle St three times. Alone, with a Harvard student, and with... More

Don't miss the Penguin and mice chocolates to bring home for the little ones. I had dark hot chocolate which reminded me of my childhood. Lovely selection off boxed chocolates and pastries.

I always enjoy L.A. Burdicks as a rare treat. It is rather pricy, but I enjoy giving their chocolates as gifts on special occasions. Their hot chocolate is delicious but a little too rich for me, so I actually prefer their iced hot chocolate (=cold chocolate?), which is absolutely addicting!

I'm a hot chocolate snob. I've tried hot chocolate at many places.... Around Boston, in other cities..... I've never had better hot chocolate than at Burdick's. Both the boston locations (downtown and Harvard Sq) serve the best.... Milk hot chocolate is the one to get!!! It's not for people who don't really like rich drinking chocolate.... But for those who... More

The only thing the 4 of us ladies got at L. A. Burdick was the dark hot chocolate. It was like drinking smooth creamy warm chocolate. One of our foursome suggested she felt like she was in the movie Chocolat after taking her first sip. I only wish there was room for us to sit and also have dessert because... More

Great pit stop for hot chocolate in cold weather. You will have to wait in line in the cold but the chocolate will warm you up. There are a few tables to sit if you can find a spot. Turnover is usually quick. Don't give up and wait for a few min.

I have fallen hard for the crispy Easter eggs at Burdick's. They have a thick inside layer of crispy feuillete that is filled with various chocolate nut creams. Yikers!! The only (serious) problem with them is that , when you first bite into the inside, you release a small army of Borrowers who quickly make off with the rest of... More

Best kept secret. Atmosphere and concept and service and pastries and chocolates are all so European.
