A nice little restaurant, in the heart of Cambridge, well attended (by 8pm, all the tables were taken). The food is asian fusion, which they serve as tapas! We opted for the 5 course fixed price and were treated to mini dishes that were very flavorful and surprisingly filling. The general ambiance was festive. It can be loud, so conversation... More

Earlier in the day I tried to get a reservation through Open Table, which said only very early or late reservations were available. So I called the restaurant. I was first impressed by the customer service of the person on the phone. He accommodated our needs and found a time slot for us. We were then late, due to having... More

I appreciate the enthusiasm others on Tripadvisor have shown for East By Northeast, but think some caveats and qualifications are in order. This small spot in east Cambridge is obviously a labor of love, and their limited menu focusing on noodles and dumplings indicates that they want to do a few things and do them as best as possible. This... More

Flavors are so unique and delicious. Almost every small dish was a knockout. Try new things, take risks, your taste buds will thank you. One of my favorite restaurants.

A MUST! A sublime experience in every sense. The favors, the creativity, the presentation together with the variety of ingredients used and the sequence in which you get to experience them... SIMPLY SUBLIME! Yes, all capital letters, all well deserved! On top of it all an impeccable (and hilariously kind) service. Reservation mandatory: it's a tiny tiny not the quietest... More

One of the most unique, and satisfying, dining experiences in the Boston area. You won't be disappointed.

I loved the food. Unique and delicious. Will return soon and often. We had tapas and though the price could be lower, I believe that the taste made paying for the brunch worth it.

What a delicious melange of local ingredients with Asian flavor! Loved the pork buns, and my favorite, the dessert - a semifredo of chrysanthemum, peach, ginger and coconut which took our breath away.

East by Northeast is a tiny storefront restaurant in the Inman Square neighborhood of Cambridge, MA. It’s got all the hype, it’s on everyone’s “Best Of” list and it was noted in the New York Times “36 hours in Cambridge” article. All for good reason. It’s putting out big flavors. It’s Chinese fusion; everything is locally sourced. And, there’s no... More

even as a non meat/poultry eater I found enough choices to have had 2 very special dining experiences here-from the rice noodles to house made sodas to a special dessert that was memorable (citrus-chrysanthmum semi freddo with rhubarb/strawberry coulis and toasted pistachios-yum!) I don't even live in the area any more but this place is on my list when I... More
