Excellent for breakfast!

The concierge(ss) at my hotel recommended this as a breakfast spot, within a ten-minute walk. I went Sunday morning. The place was lively and crowded, usually a good sign. The menu offers quite the array of egg combinations, pancakes, and (of course) French toast. I had a large omelet called, I... read more

If you're into that sort of retro dining experience then this should be a place to visit. Did not quite appeal to my tastes though. As for the food, went there for breakfast and it was disappointing to say the least. Their home chips was more like burnt potatoes and all my five other friends had the same too. Had... More

Went for Sunday brunch with 2 friends. Long wait for table but we got drinks at bar and chatted. Seated quicker than we thought. Excellent because we were starving. Placed our order (all of us ordered omelets). Then we waited, waited and waited some more. Waitress had disappeared. Finally we asked her for something to nibble on since food taking... More

Went to breakfast here at the suggestion of my daughter who is in graduate school in Boston. Was fun place with kitschy decor from the mid 20th century. The menu was large and the portions were huge. The service was helpful and the food came out quickly. Thought the food was just so-so, however.

Service was friendly and fast. Portions were plentiful. A large variety of different offerings are available for breakfast, all of which met with the approval of our family of five. This is one of several breakfast places in Boston we would return to.

Caramelized banana waffle was so good! The bacon, scallion and cheese omelette was perfectly made. Every bite had the perfect blend of these three ingredients. Coffee also very good. The cost would be the only complaint one might have, but it was well worth every penny.

Enjoyed the vast pancakes (with choc chips - yum!) and friendly kitsch setting. A fun place to brunch with kids!

This place has great pancakes. At first we were disappointed that the largest number of pancakes in any menu item was 3, but the pancakes were huge. Will order 2 next time. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful.

We went to The Friendly Toast on a Sunday morning and arrived around 9:00 and were seated right away. We planned to arrive relatively early to avoid a wait, which thankfully paid off. When we left around 10:00, there was quite a crowd waiting! Overall our food was good- I got the Eggs Benedict which were great. Although the home... More

The gluten free blueberry pancakes were delicious. The atmosphere was cool. It was slightly difficult to find as the restaurant's front does not face the street. I'll eat here again the next time I'm in Cambridge.
