Fanciful Bistro

The food here is very attractive but some dishes are far from satiating: pasta dishes, for example. And the steak/frites might come overcooked. The wines are on the expensive side and the daily specials seem over worked with too many items or ingredients. Still, it's generally very good and... read more

The food here is very attractive but some dishes are far from satiating: pasta dishes, for example. And the steak/frites might come overcooked. The wines are on the expensive side and the daily specials seem over worked with too many items or ingredients. Still, it's generally very good and enjoyable cuisine at a price. Nice, cozy and very quiet space... More

Went with my family to Ten Tables this past weekend to celebrate a birthday. I just didn't enjoy any of the dishes, from start to finish. Too much salt no matter what I tasted. The waiter did a nice job but I was very disappointed overall in the quality of the food. With all the wonderful choices in Boston &... More

Parking is the first problem. They only have four spaces for the restaurant and no valet and Cambridge is a tough place to fined another place to park. Then the food was way too salty and I mean most everything from the small plate appetizers.to the french fries. The few dishes we had, like the seafood stew, that were not... More

We often forget about this tucked away little restaurant, even though it's not that far away from the Square. So we made sure to go there for a recent date night and were not disappointed. The warm, knowledgeable service and the tasty dishes were fabulous. The wine recommendations were perfect, and in our cases the least expensive by the glass.... More

For a restaurant that's out of the way, it needs to be perfect, and unfortunately it wasn't. I had not been in a long time, but remembered it fondly, and it is totally different now. The menu is small and uninteresting, and although everything tasted good, neither the quality nor the quantity was worth the price. It's basically a casual... More

We flew into Boston, navigated the T to Harvard Sq. walked to the Sheraton Commander, asked where to eat and one of their recommendations was nearby Ten Tables. It was Saturday, around 7 pm. I thought we'd be lucky to have food on our plates anywhere near Harvard Sq. by 10 pm. I called Ten Tables and they said, "Come... More

We arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday evening-without reservations. We were graciously offered bar seats, which we decided to accept. The bar tender who waited on us was terrific. I had a lovely, reasonably priced rose. We tried the zucchini hummus-delicious! My husband enjoyed his burger and fries. (I ate his pickles-they were homemade and had quite a punch). I... More

Picked this place on advice of a friend and because the menu looked good. Had the prix fixe three course meal on a Sunday. Both appetizers were salty. Both entrees were under seasoned, oddly-accompanied, and not tasty. Dessert was delicious. It was too dark inside. Service was pleasant but I also found hostess unfriendly and unsmiling. At least it was... More

I had dinner there for the 3 courses meal twice. Sadly, nothing is really bad but also nothing really stands out either. It's quite dark to read the menu, as it's located in the basement. Overall, average food with above average price.

The wine tasting menu tonight was artfully thought out and executed. The organic wine pairings were good and accentuated a great many of the tastes and flavors. The Grüner Veltliner with a clam/potato & pullet egg hash was great. An organic Rhone Syrah was an unusual and artful pairing with a plate of radishes, cucumbers, green tomatoes, bluefish salad and... More
