Wine and Time

The wine tasting menu tonight was artfully thought out and executed. The organic wine pairings were good and accentuated a great many of the tastes and flavors. The Grüner Veltliner with a clam/potato & pullet egg hash was great. An organic Rhone Syrah was an unusual and artful pairing with a... read more

Picked this place on advice of a friend and because the menu looked good. Had the prix fixe three course meal on a Sunday. Both appetizers were salty. Both entrees were under seasoned, oddly-accompanied, and not tasty. Dessert was delicious. It was too dark inside. Service was pleasant but I also found hostess unfriendly and unsmiling. At least it was... More

I had dinner there for the 3 courses meal twice. Sadly, nothing is really bad but also nothing really stands out either. It's quite dark to read the menu, as it's located in the basement. Overall, average food with above average price.

I took my wife to the Ten Tables last week at the occasion of her birthday... our favourite restaurant in Cambridge was closed. No need to write a long review: Our experience was similar to Russ' just a few days earlier; I wish I had read his review before. I had the "line caught" halibut too, and it was salty... More

We dined at Ten Tables to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. "Line caught" halibut was dry and tasteless. Lobster crepe was better but still not very flavorful. Appetizers were good. Waiter was personable and efficient. Hostess was rather unwelcoming. Table support staff awkward and intrusive.-- not rude, just inexperienced or untrained. Chairs are too low so that table tends... The service was attentive, the food was very good (except for the overly salty steak fries we had to send back), but the place has the ambience of a basement apartment - dark, claustrophobic, below ground. The menu is limited and many of the dishes seem pretentious - what is sumac pudding or burdock root anyway? Plan on spending about... More

We visited Ten Tables recently and were amazed at the rude nature of the staff. We asked for our waiter to describe various wines and add some details to the specials. The waiter was unable to describe other wines and seemed offended that we were not going to order the wine that was suggested. We asked for assistance by someone... More

Recently, we (eight of us) had occasion to dine at Ten Tables to celebrate a Harvard graduation. Ten Tables was her choice of place to dine. This is a small, intimate restaurant, that, in fact, can have just ten tables, depending on how they configure the seating. The staff were very polite, attentive, and professional. We were waited on by... More

Yes, I know the name of the restaurant should be a clue but this place is small and tables are jammed into one another. Menu and food were just okay. Expected better. Fish dry etc. Prices too high. Won't be back due to feeling like being in cellar with strangers, eating mediocre food and paying too much for it.

A delicious and creative meal served with just the right amount of attention. Fresh ingredients, with an eye toward flavor and texture combinations. We particularly liked the halibut, paired with roasted sunchokes and saffron gnocchi. Very nice wine list, well organized for easy use. On the romantic side, if you're looking for a quiet spot to stare into your better... More
