Description: The Elephant Walk serves Award-Winning Cambodian and French cuisine. We...
The Elephant Walk serves Award-Winning Cambodian and French cuisine. We also feature strong VEGETARIAN and GLUTEN-FREE menus! With so much depth and breadth to our menus, both exotic and familiar, we have something for just about everyone. Cambodian cooking is beautiful and delicious, but still rare in America. Less hot and sweet than Thai, richer and more complex than Vietnamese, the complex spice pastes that are the foundation of many Cambodian dishes reflect Cambodia’s Indian ancestry. Our Cambodian menu features both traditional Cambodian dishes and originals created by our Chef/Owners Longteine and Nadsa de Monteiro, a Cambodian mother-daughter team born and raised in Phnom Penh. Why French too? Cambodia was a French colony for a century, ending in the 1950s. Consequently, our chef-owners were French-educated and grew up speaking French and enjoying French cuisine too. In other words, our Cambodian-and-French theme is an authentic reflection of…us!

Great Place

The food was great, the staff was great, and the selection was great. We made a reservation but arrived 45 minutes early and we were seated right away. This was a Tuesday night and it did get a little crowded around 7:30 or 8:00 pm.

Whether you're into steak and potatoes or looking for a bit of a culinary adventure, this place has you covered. It's hard to go wrong with French and Cambodian cuisines under one roof. Be ready to spend a bit, but know that it's worth it.

Stopped in late-ish on a weeknight. Was quiet. The decor is pretty cool and fun (but not overbearing). The vegetable curry I had was delicious; others thought their food was just ok.

Service here is just awful. We used to walk to our branch of The Elephant Walk in Brookline on Beacon Street (no longer there) and have happy memories of the food and service. This branch is a disaster. Several waitresses were rude. One barked at my daughter to move her pocket book from the floor. It was not what she... More

Good food. Good service. But there was nothing really memorable about our meal at Elephant Walk. We would probably opt to try other ethnic Asian restaurants in the area before returning to Elephant Walk.

Clean, reasonably priced, slow service, limited free parking. If you know and love Cambodian food you may be more impressed than we were.

My daughter requested the Elephant Walk for her birthday dinner and we had a lovely meal. Special orders to accommodate my wife's allergies weren't a problem. They had a candle for my daughter's cake. Loved the mixture of French and Cambodian food. Will go back again.

For more than a decade, Elephant Walk has been on my short list of favorite restaurants. Now it's off the list altogether. All lists. The last few times I've been I was disappointed, but wrote it off to a bad night, an anomaly. No more. Now it has officially made it into the "used to be great, isn't even good... More

It is a nice clean restaurant with some interesting options. Try the short rib, very juicy and tasty. Beef bourguignon is kind of dry. Fixed menu is a good option to go.

I had a chance to get behind the scenes at The Elephant Walk in Cambridge thanks to a cooking class done by the owner, Longteine de Monteiro (Nyep) for our non-profit organization that helps the disadvantaged youth in Cambodia. Well, I have eaten here before and so I know the food is good, but now I know just how fresh... More
