Description: The Elephant Walk serves Award-Winning Cambodian and French cuisine. We...
The Elephant Walk serves Award-Winning Cambodian and French cuisine. We also feature strong VEGETARIAN and GLUTEN-FREE menus! With so much depth and breadth to our menus, both exotic and familiar, we have something for just about everyone. Cambodian cooking is beautiful and delicious, but still rare in America. Less hot and sweet than Thai, richer and more complex than Vietnamese, the complex spice pastes that are the foundation of many Cambodian dishes reflect Cambodia’s Indian ancestry. Our Cambodian menu features both traditional Cambodian dishes and originals created by our Chef/Owners Longteine and Nadsa de Monteiro, a Cambodian mother-daughter team born and raised in Phnom Penh. Why French too? Cambodia was a French colony for a century, ending in the 1950s. Consequently, our chef-owners were French-educated and grew up speaking French and enjoying French cuisine too. In other words, our Cambodian-and-French theme is an authentic reflection of…us!

Lovely spot for a family birthday dinner

My daughter requested the Elephant Walk for her birthday dinner and we had a lovely meal. Special orders to accommodate my wife's allergies weren't a problem. They had a candle for my daughter's cake. Loved the mixture of French and Cambodian food. Will go back again.

For more than a decade, Elephant Walk has been on my short list of favorite restaurants. Now it's off the list altogether. All lists. The last few times I've been I was disappointed, but wrote it off to a bad night, an anomaly. No more. Now it has officially made it into the "used to be great, isn't even good... More

It is a nice clean restaurant with some interesting options. Try the short rib, very juicy and tasty. Beef bourguignon is kind of dry. Fixed menu is a good option to go.

I had a chance to get behind the scenes at The Elephant Walk in Cambridge thanks to a cooking class done by the owner, Longteine de Monteiro (Nyep) for our non-profit organization that helps the disadvantaged youth in Cambodia. Well, I have eaten here before and so I know the food is good, but now I know just how fresh... More

The Royal Society of Arts, New England held their Fall 2014 Symposium for Fellows at the Elephant Walk on 10/24/2014. From the moment attendees arrived they were met by professional, accommodating staff ready to make the evening enjoyable. Our private room downstairs was set-up as we requested complete with the technology (large screen TV for presentations w/computer cable already hooked... More

Excellent food, varied menu, great blend of Asian and French food. Had four entrees (beef, chicken, shrimp, salmon) and two salads (the tuna avocado was scrumptious) that we shared and all delicious. Friendly and attentive wait staff, in a great ambiance. Only drawback was the noise level in downstairs area where we were seated - could barely hear anyone who... More

I hosted a group of 7 people for a business dinner. The service and the meal were excellent. We shared some great veggie spring rolls as a starter and then ordered seafood, chicken, beef, or tofu dishes, depending on individual preferences. All were extremely happy with their choices. We were seated in the basement in a somewhat quiet corner, which... More

We went during restaurant week in Boston and were very impressed by the choice of dishes within the fixed price menu. Many restaurants just offer 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts but the Elephant Walk had 7 starters and 8 mains. My partner is vegetarian so there was plenty to choose from for both of us. The wine list... More

Recommended by a friend decided to try this place and am glad I did. Had never tried Cambodian cuisine. Appetizers were very tasty - the spring rolls were quite different and a pork simmered in coconut milk quire excellent. Had Lok loc (sp) for main, a great beef dish and everyone's meals at the table were also fantastic. Will eat... More

Five of us had dinner at The Elephant Walk on Mass Ave. in Cambridge. We enjoyed dinner, but in my opinion the restaurant seems a little tired and in need of an updating of its menu, decor and staff. In general, I'd say the Cambodian dishes are better and more interesting than the French. Although we chose the fixed price... More
