Description: The Elephant Walk serves Award-Winning Cambodian and French cuisine. We also feature strong VEGETARIAN and GLUTEN-FREE menus! With so much depth and breadth to our menus, both exotic and familiar, we have something for just about everyone. Cambodian cooking is beautiful and delicious, but still rare in America. Less hot and sweet than Thai, richer and more complex than Vietnamese, the complex spice pastes that are the foundation of many Cambodian dishes reflect Cambodia’s Indian ancestry. Our Cambodian menu features both traditional Cambodian dishes and originals created by our Chef/Owners Longteine and Nadsa de Monteiro, a Cambodian mother-daughter team born and raised in Phnom Penh. Why French too? Cambodia was a French colony for a century, ending in the 1950s. Consequently, our chef-owners were French-educated and grew up speaking French and enjoying French cuisine too. In other words, our Cambodian-and-French theme is an authentic reflection of…us!

We went during restaurant week in Boston and were very impressed by the choice of dishes within the fixed price menu. Many restaurants just offer 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 desserts but the Elephant Walk had 7 starters and 8 mains. My partner is vegetarian so there was plenty to choose from for both of us. The wine list... More

Recommended by a friend decided to try this place and am glad I did. Had never tried Cambodian cuisine. Appetizers were very tasty - the spring rolls were quite different and a pork simmered in coconut milk quire excellent. Had Lok loc (sp) for main, a great beef dish and everyone's meals at the table were also fantastic. Will eat... More

Five of us had dinner at The Elephant Walk on Mass Ave. in Cambridge. We enjoyed dinner, but in my opinion the restaurant seems a little tired and in need of an updating of its menu, decor and staff. In general, I'd say the Cambodian dishes are better and more interesting than the French. Although we chose the fixed price... More

The Elephant Walk offers a varied menu that mixes Asian and French cuisine, sometimes in the same dish. Its fish and seafood entrees are superb. Service is attentive and the restaurant staff understand the needs of someone with celiac disease, which is a must for our party. Menu choices include traditional Cambodian and French dishes. An adventurous diner has options... More

My husband and I have been here a number of times. We love the unique melding of Cambodian and French foods. The decor has a sophisticated charm, and there's something comfortable and comforting about the layout of the restaurant. We've always had excellent service and have enjoyed the beautiful presentation of delicious offerings. This is a top-notch, high-end establlsihment. One... More

We came here with friends for our 30th college reunion, at the recommendation of another friend. We were not disappointed. This was creative and memorable food--NOT the sort of place I would have eaten at in college, but that is what we were looking for. The tuna was particularly notable. Attractively presented in a two color sauce, and unbelievably good.... More

I had walked past this restaurant many times as it is just 3 blocks from Porter Square. Finally went and wish we had eaten here earlier. Glad too that we made online reservations for a saturday night. Food and wine menu is eclectic combination of French and Cambodian Decor pleasant, noise level was moderate, and service was very efficient. We... More

The Elephant Walk is one of the few authentic high end French/Cambodian restaurants around. I have not been able to find one like this in the DC area despite a large Cambodian community. Our party of seven ordered several dishes, all delicious: the typically Cambodian Amok Royal, Crevettes Sur Mer (with tofu instead of shrimp), Crevettes Amrita with shrimp, and... More

We had dinner here on the recommendation of a friend last week. What a treat! The dining room was interesting, calming and attractive. The service was attentive. They start you off with a half of a perfect French baguette. So many of the menu items sounded wonderful that it was hard to choose. Many of them can be made vegan... More

I've eaten at the Elephant Walk many times and have always enjoyed it. The food is wonderfully prepared, and often unusual. Nothing I would cook at home. The atmosphere at the Cambridge restaurant is relaxing, and the service has been great every time I went. Highly recommend this place.
