The food is very good indeed - the Char-grilled Tuna fillet with olive oil and lemon juice, the Gnocchi with an asparagus sauce and a deilcious cheese platter...not forgetting the mixed cold charcuterie ..lovely Staff..well done -Richard Johnston

Although a gazillion of pubs exists along Lago Albano's shoreline, only a few of these places actually seem to be open in winter (i.e. from November onwards). Lacking in alternatives (in fact we only spotted one other place that was open), we resorted to La Quintessa. Foodwise, we found everything somewhat okay (nothing special, really). Yet the food was comparably... More

This is a restaurant that is beutifully decorated, with a terrace overlooking the lake and Italian food that is different for a change from the food served in most of the restaurants in the Castelli Romani. We had pasta with wild boar, porchetta and fried calamari and prawns. The roast potatoes with olives, rosmary and onions were delicious as well... More

The restaurant is local on a large lake in or near Castel Gandolfo. We had an incredibly good dinner and returned the next night with friends. While it was still good it wasn't quite as "great." My wife ordered the chicken tureen with vegetables and I had the most delicious order of clams and mussels in a tomato sauce. That... More

Such a stylish place, decorated with very good taste. Had a dinner here once and wish it wasn´t the last evening in Castel Gandolfo. Would have wanted to return there definitely. We had a dinner at the terrace. Service was very good, food was delicious and they had nice wine selection. There´s beautiful lightning on the terrace. Wish this restaurant... More

We ate here in a large group of about 20 after a disastrous meal the previous night elsewhere. Recommended by the hotel, but the welcome and friendliness was genuine, the food was excellent, and the wine range good. Would have eaten here again given the chance.
