WORTH IT!

Lava restaurant is conveniently located at The Blue Lagoon. It is pricy but the food is impeccable. If your saving your pennies to splurge on a meal, then this is the place to do it. I suggest doing the luxury visit because you get a private room for showering and stowing personals. After that run... read more

We stopped into Lava after spending the early part of the afternoon in the Blue Lagoon. We did not have a reservation but were seated right away. The food was out of this world! Probably the best meal we had while in Europe. The beef was so tender it just flaked off the bone with the fork. Our server was... More

The food and service was great. It's a big place with lots of tables and even the tables in the middle of the room weren't bad...

We had a seven hour layover in Reykavich on our way home from Europe, and decided to speck out Blue Lagoon. We thoroughly enjoyed It. The water was warm and relaxing, and the surreal moon like appearance due to the lava rock was cool. I expected to enjoy that. What I didn't expect was an amazing dining experience. The food... Me and my mum spent the whole day at the spa for my birthday and then when to restaurant for dinner, I love the architecture and the atmosphere of the restaurant, the food is absolutely delicious, after we ordered our desserts one of the staff from the kitchen came out with a plate saying happy birthday in chocolate, with a... We enjoyed lunch here after spending a morning cavorting in the Blue Lagoon. Needless to say, we worked up an appetite in the hot pools and, after a few hours, were ready for lunch. We were led into a nicely appointed room with incredible views of the lagoon. We enjoyed an exquisite lunch of locally caught ocean catfish that was... More

When you visit the Blue Lagoon, you can eat at a cafeteria type setting near the entrance or you can make reservations at Lava. My husband had made reservations for us, and we chose the fancy dinner before partaking in the geothermal pool. We found out afterwards we were supposed to have been given free champagne as part of our... More

This is a nice place to have a meal after spending time in the Lagoon. The menu is not large but there are a few appetizers, a couple of fish and meat entrees and a couple of desserts. They also feature 3 different either 2 or 3 course prix fixe menus. The mussel starter was ok. The rack of lamb... More

Excellent food, excellent service, reasonable prices (by Iceland standard), with views onto the Blue Lagoon. Recommend this as a last meal on the way back to the airport.

We ate here during our stay at the Blue Lagoon. The food is fairly expensive but no more than I'd expect to pay in an upmarket UK restaurant, and the price is more than worth it! Be sure to get a cocktail with your meal!
