Surprisingly good

We ate here after a relaxing afternoon at the Blue Lagoon. The food was fantastic. I was relieved that it was so good and not a tourist trap. Slightly higher prices than Reykjavik restaurants but worth every penny.

Loved the variety here - the portions were nice as well for a fat American. I didn't leave hungry. It filled me up but emptied my wallet! I guess this can be expected of such a place, so I wasn't off put by it. Just be prepared. Service was as good or better than usual in this non-tipped economy.

We ate at the Lava Restaurant after out visit to the Blue Lagoon, the service was fantastic and the food was beautiful. The lamb was probably the best I have ever tasted. Such a lovely memory eating amazing food looking out at the beautiful mountains. Would highly recommend after a visit to the Blue Lagoon.

Utterly delicious and exceptional meal, helped by phenomenal outlook of the lagoon. Too special! Delicate exquisite meal obviously made with great care. Beautiful. An absolute must for next time!

We had 3 courses each and every dish was beautifully presented with inventive, creative dishes. The lamb with the garlic butter sauce was exquisite and so was the salmon.. The desserts were both excellent

On arriving at the restaurant, I wasn't overwhelmed by the actual room - it is really big, and the effect that has is that it feels a little bit like a conference room. However, this was soon forgotten once we started eating. The food was absolutely delicious. Even the bread was lovely! The portions were good, and the food itself... More

Overall, the food was very average and overpriced. See below for what we ordered and comments: APPETIZER Langoustine Soup - This was the best part of the meal and was very tasty. Beer Cooked Blue Mussels - The actual mussels were fresh and good quality, however the flavor was very bland MAIN COURSE Pan-fried chicken breast - Small portion but... More

Your paying £50 for the food that's not including drinks, what is brought out is an virtually empty plate, the quality of meat was good but it just wasn't cooked to how I asked and what I was given was cold and bare, I wouldn't say don't go to blue lagoon because it was beautiful but skip the restaurant.
