After a good hot bath at the blue lagoon. We went to Lava for dinner. Price is definitely expensive and it is a michelin graded restaurant if I am not mistaken. So i have high expectations for a michelin graded restaurant. The knowledge of the waiter Olivier is not good enough for lava. When he was asked to recommend, all... More

We were visiting the Blue Lagoon - via a cruise ship port stay (overnight). We both were expecting a tourist trap of a restaurant but were presently surprised. Lots of good choices. The beef/beef cheeks was excellent and perfectly cooked. My wife had the fish was which equally good. The menu is set up ala carte or a prefixed dinner.... More

We had a very short timeframe to eat lunch before heading to an ATV adventure, but we took our chances with this restaurant that obviously did not specialize in fast food. We were impressed. We told the waitress that we had a very short time for lunch, and they were very accommodating. The waitresses we encountered were very nice. My... More

Beautifully located with the lagoon wrapping around it. You enter through massive lava walls on wither side of tags path and the restaurant itself is carved into the lava rocks. There is also a viewing platform on the roof of the restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious, friendly service and great atmosphere.

We (2 adults and 2 children, 6 & 9) ate in Lava after an afternoon at Blue Lagoon. Whilst prices (for adults meals) are high, taking advantage of the fact that it's got a captive audience, it's no more than its equivalent in Reykyavik and the food is outstanding - my beef was cooked just as asked and beautifully presented... If you have to wait for more than 60 minutes for 1 main course... then the fun is over. Finally the main courses came, except one. So we waited another 7 minutes and the food was almost cold. We got a small discount for the discomfort.

I ate lunch here during a trip to the Blue Lagoon and was blown away by the gourmet quality of the food. I had the seafood prix fixe and the flavors were elegant and original, and presentation gorgeous. Given how unexpectedly great the food was, I think that this place is not overpriced at all, especially given that tax and... More

Service very efficient and helpful, enjoyed the evening, exceeded my expectations. Wife had lamb which was well prepared and tender, mine was Langoustine with Blue Ling also creative and tasty. Italian dry white matched the meal. Well done.
