This is a fun place to go! Classic diner atmosphere in an old airplane hangar-- which makes it loads of fun...BUT...hey...I go for the food! French toast is wonderful and pancakes are to die for...BUT pancakes are huge so don't overdo it! When we have guests in town we always take them to visit! COFFEE IS FANTASTIC! It was also... More

Have you ever eaten in a quanzit hut? Well here is your chance. Dirt parking lot, round building, open the door, and wow! Walls covered with nostalgia items to bring back youthful memories. You can and should eat at the counter. You then can see every dish as it comes out. Breakfast was the best. They have a 16" pancake.... More

Not quite sure what the hype is about this place. Ordered the ham and cheese omelet with hashbrowns and toast. American cheese on my omelet! Gross. Big pancake was average at best.

Interesting atmosphere...diner in a quanset hut...but breakfast was excellent, from huge chocolate pancakes to REAL corned beef hash. Great cup of coffee, but a little slow on refills. NOT a greasy spoon! Featured on Food Channel - Guy Fieri for obvious reasons. We visited during the week with no waiting, but were told that the wait can be long on... More

On our cross-country trek, we stopped at Charlie Parker's because it was on DDD. Little did we know how great our stop would be. First....the food, fantastic. Nice size portions and flat out delicious! Second....the staff was the best we have experienced yet! We highly recommend Charlie Parker's to anyone looking for great food and a great atmosphere!!!

It may not look like much from the outside and it may be a little hard to find, but the food is outstanding and the staff saw to our every need. We especially loved the atmosphere and stuffed waffles!

Definitely a "must-see" eatery when you're visiting Springfield. Their breakfast horseshoe is the best I've ever had. Overall, typical diner food, but the decor and atmosphere make it worth the wait. (Lines out the door year-round on the weekends.) Try the 16" chocolate chip pancake--looks outrageous and tastes delicious.

It was Sunday and we had to wait for a table which we were told by our server is typical on the weekends. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Food was good and the Breakfast Pony Shoe I had was plenty of food. My wife had the Sunday special, a blueberry casserole and it was more than she could eat... More

Being from Southern Rhode Island, pulling up to a Quonset Hut restaurant in the middle of IL was a shock. The fact that this rather inconspicuous restaurant had a great waiting list system was even more surprising! We gave our name and cell phone number, and our party of 6 was seated in the busy restaurant in minutes. We got... More

One question... Why are you not at Charlie Parker's now? There is no need for reading this pathetic review. You are wasting time not getting to Charlie Parker's. I had lived in Springfield, IL for 2 years before I made the decision to change my life for the better by visiting the amazingly delicious example of the bounty of America's... More
