Yummy soups and sandwiches. This is where the local downtown workers eat. Daily specials. Guaranteed good food. Nice desserts available. Very handy to many downtown historical sites and hotels.

The Feed Store has about 6 homemade soups every day, along with sandwiches, salads and homemade cheesecake, apple cake and carrot cake. My favorite soups are mushroom bisque or french potato. Chicken and tuna salad are also very good.

Well....this place is a mixed bag of good and bad. It seems to be mostly a local place where the downtown business people go for a quick lunch. A waiter did greet us from across the room when we entered, yelling for us to grab a menu at the door , get in line and someone would take our order....then... More

The soups were fantastic! There were 6-7 to choose from! We tried two of them and were impressed with both! You order at the counter and get a number, then they call your number and bring your tray. The atmosphere was comfortable, old-style diner in a historic building. All the staff were friendly, except for the grumpy cashier, who was... More

The Feed Store has the best soups and sandwiches in town. They have at least 6 homemade soups every day and the best chicken salad. It is very simple but delicious. You walk in and place your order at the front of the restaurant and then you are seated. Someone brings you your lunch. They also have great desserts. Chocolate raspberry... More

Looking for a place to have lunch - this is the place. Great soup and sandwiches with fast service. Always very busy at lunch time. I would recommend getting there a little before noon or after the lunch hour rush.

The Feed Store has delicious soups, salads and sandwiches. I eat here whenever I am in Springfield. The chicken salad is one of my favorites, I get a scoop of the chicken salad on the Heartland green salad and it is large and satisfying. Their soups are homemade and all are very good. You order at the counter, or during... More

Google'd Springfield's best and The Feed Store came up on an Urbanspoon list...after parking the truck and trailer 3 blocks away (car parking with meters) we arrived to find it in the building across from the old state capital which ended up being the main redeeming quality of the restaurant. I had Reuben and it wasn't toasted and the bottom... More
