Great soups and sandwhiches

This was my first time visiting and there was a line for lunch, which isn't a bad thing. I like going to places that are busy, which shows its popular. It was fairly reasonably priced and had good portions.

My favorite is their Wisconsin Beer Cheese Soup!! Go early. They will run out. They offer 5-6 different soups EVERY day.

Love going there in fall and winter and having their soup and sandwich meals. Great food. Lots of comfort food and some with a delightful twist.

After our visit to the Lincoln Museum we stopped in here for lunch. With lots of salads and sandwiches to choose from, it was the list of soups on our cold, rainy day visit that piqued my interest. The cream of mushroom soup was delicious. My husband's sandwich was pretty average, on sourdough bread that was more like white bread.... More

First and foremost, this place is too small. They're only open for lunch and they're almost always packed and it's very noisy. That said, I usually get my food to go, and their Wisconsin Cheese Soup is delicious. Good sandwiches and salads too.

I followed other reviewers on this site and Yelp who had recommended it, and had lunch at this establishment. I would not recommend it. It was okay, but it is a cafeteria style eatery with no ambiance. I'd look elsewhere next time.

I have eaten at the Feed Store several times while visiting Springfield. I know their ordering system is different than most, but I have always felt welcome. During this visit, I ordered take out to carry back to my hotel room. I had to wait about 5 minutes for my beef barley soup. It was very hot-temperature wise and although... More

Like another traveler already pointed out, this place has a weird ordering and paying system and I didn't like either of it. You don't get a menu until you are at the counter and as soon as we were handed one the "order taker guy" pressed us for our orders and to move on,..holy smokes! The sandwiches were completely below... More

After our tour of the Lincoln Museum, we were pooped and needed lunch. I asked at the guest service desk where to eat and the nice gal said that “anywhere by the old capital building is good.” We found The Feed Store, it was packed, a sure sign of a great place. Soup and sandwich was the order for the... More

We spent a couple days in Springfield to see the Lincoln sites. We were given a tip from a friend to have lunch at The Feed Store. We loved it. I had the Cream of Mushroom soup and it was wonderful. My husband got the Cream of Potato. We split a chicken sandwich on sour dough bread - the bread... More
