You Have To Try It At Least Once

We were in town for a night and we saw this place on Man vs Food and wanted to give it a try. I went with a 4 rating because there isn't a 3-1/2. Everyone has an opinion of what makes good chili and I'm just not a fan of oil based chili. For me there just isn't a lot... read more

Good Chili but to much for a cup of it! Owner say's the last people who ran it used cheap ingredients. Maybe but it tasted better. although the last people who worked there were rude.

I've been going to the Den for at least 40 years and have never been disappointed. I've had the JR Special, formerly known as the Firebrand, several times, mostly because I like "hot", and got my name on the posters many times, even once with a star (for two bowls at one sitting). I usually get the medium and if... More

Back in town from Mississippi for the holidays went here for lunch. Around 1230 or so and place was packed. Not a big place or anything fancy just great chilli. It didn't take long to get waited on. Here you can order chilli with the desired heat you like. We had a medium and medium hot with a hot dog.... More

Very unique! This gem has been around for 70 years and is owned by the original owners daughter. Wonderful flavor and very warm, friendly service. My husband and I were planning our next visit as we walked out the door.

Chili is like beer, spaghetti, and barbecue sauce: everyone has their own opinion of what is good. In my opinion, this chili is just outstanding. The Chili Parlor has been a Springfield landmark since the 1940s, operating from several different locations. The current building is small, nondescript, and there isn't a lot of parking. Inside, it's bright and sparkling clean.... More

It's a chili joint. The chili is good. The menu is what you would expect form a chili stand. Its nicer inside than you would think by looking outside. Nothing special but still good. They only take cash so keep that in mind before you go. The staff was nice and the place was clean.
