The chili was ok, the tamales tasted pre made, there was no air conditioning (it was hot in there), have them hold the oil. We we not greeted by the counter staff. The owner was very nice and personable. My friend did the firebrand chili challenge and said that was good. Kind of pricy and they only take cash.

We've visited Springfield for years and never noticed this little place on 9th Street. Once we saw it we had to stop and try the chili. You enter and walk to the counter to order. She had the mild/medium. I got the medium hot and a Denburger. The food was served up before I got my change! (Cash only here.)... More

This was honestly the worst place I could have eaten in Springfield. The service was pathetic and I quickly overheard the workers spewing terrible language and insults among themselves about the customers and spent too much time on their phones. On top of that, my order was incorrect and when it was finally given to me, the grease made the... More

Love that you can have them mix up exactly what YOU like in your chili. Feel like no beans? Done. Feel like extra meat? Done. Want it spicy hot? Done. Want it mild? Done. And the combinations go on and on. Love this place!

. . . not necessarily a good thing. I ordered a special - chili, tamale and drink. It was plenty of food. First, the tamale was nothing special, I would not order it again. Now the chili - I grew up on oily chili so I knew what to expect. If you haven't had it before, you should order it... More

Visit springfield area a few times a year and always find time to stop by here and get my fix. I like the medium with a touch chili and the den burgers. The chili is very different as in nobody ever makes it this way anymore. The taste is awesome very greasy, the heat is a little much if you... More

We thought that we would challenge ourselves and do the chilli challenge. The chilli is very average, really needed salt or flavouring though. I did the first bowl in about 5 mins but my husband needed 2 pints of milk so maybe I am being unkind. There are quite a few who have done he challenge on the wall and... More

Great selection of heat for the chili, recommend very hot they offer from mild to firebrand. If you can eat Firebrand you name goes on the board. Chili has made with suet which is an asset but also a cardic arrest waiting to happen. Am over 75 and it has happened to me yet.
