We were literally groping for a dinner venue because virtually all of the good restaurants in downtown Springfield, Il close around 3:00 PM. We really got lucky! Although not in the downtown area this restaurant is easily accessible. Never heard of horseshoe sandwiches (Shoes!) but really enjoyed them. Also a full menu of other items and full bar.

This is one of favorite places to eat in Springfield, hands down. The horsehoes are the best in town and the prices are great. We generally feed a family of four, with adult beverages for two and it is usually less than $35.

Traveling through Springfield and found this restaurant on TA. Very good reviews and the reviews were accurate. I had the Reuben sandwich with chips. Rye bread was very good. Very good Reuben. Had the half and half beer( Guiness and Harp) and it was very good. Husband had cheesesteak sandwich. Hoagie bun was toasted and very good. Steak was lean... More

It's not easy to find decent food in a town that seems to value quantity over quality, and has great collective pride in a nutritional tragedy called a "horseshoe," which is clearly the best way to ruin a good burger and fries that I've encountered. Yes, this place serves horseshoes, but they serve a lot of other things, too, which... More

we were all pleased by the big selection of items on the menu. Would love to go back and try more of their food. We were all happy with our service and portions of our food. One of the best restaurant that we ate at in Illinois.

I have tried this place twice and the first time my Horseshoe came out room temperature with the fries soggy and undercooked, the second time they changed the fries but still soggy and undercooked, a very big disappointment.

This was by far the Best horseshoe I have ever eaten it was very flavorful and an Illinois staple, but the one I had at D'arcys was amazing!!! the cheese sauce was flavorful and you have an abundance of options to choose from, from the various meats you would like etc. Nice grub, good service! Great Experience

Food and service was great! 3 of us had the small versions of different Horseshoes - our first ever and they were delicious! Also had 1 who had a fish platter and another had the pork chop platter. The waitress was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place!!
