Downtown. Near Convention Center. Open Sunday evening.

7/19/15 6:15pm Party of 4 w/Reservations. Good food. Excellent service. Recommend reservations. Small family owned. Italian sausage very good - spicy. Shrimp Alfredo also a good choice. Old-school, very good, and reasonably priced...traditional fare with traditional taste--not faddish, not trendy, just very good.

Family-owned and traditional style service. Food (I had spaghetti and he had ravoli) was excellent and served with a smile. Only complaint was that we were ready for dinner at 4 p.m. but restaurant didn't open until 5 p.m. It was worth the wait!

First time visit. Waitress was rushed but took time to answer questions. You'll see lots of regulars there. Cooked my chicken cacciatore with grilled instead of fried by my request, no problem.

Great Downtown location. They were very kind to fit my family in for a carb-loading meal the night before the Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon. The meal was not a disappoint. I loved the salad with house Italian dressing.

Stopped in with a large group. We had very good service. The prices were reasonable and the food was good. I am happy we stopped here. If you are looking for homey Italian food this is the place for you.

If you are traveling and like to find the local, popular, unglamorous good place to eat, in my opinion, we found it. Sat at the bar (by choice-our normal get-to-know-the-town habit), had excellent service by the 7 year veteran bartender, talked with the onsite working owner and had great manicotti with meatballs and eggplant Parmesan. Regarding other reviews, It depends... More

Has to be one of The Best Family Run Italian Restaurants in the Midwest. Junk all of the chain restaurant franchises! This place knows how to prepare and serve food. Also has Springfield's best looking bar.

Saputos is old school, supper club type Italian food. I have been coming here for decades and the food, while not fancy, is consistently great. The service is top notch with several waitresses that have worked there for years. I like the baked Rigatoni with meatballs. Also, their Saputos antipasto plate is a great start to a meal. I enjoy... This restaurant was recommended to us at our hotel. We enjoyed eating at an outside table, but our server was not particularly warm--just "business-like" I felt the cracker basket was unnecessary. Sure, the bread would be more expensive, but also more authentic! I had the baked ravioli with meatballs and to be honest, while the meatballs were big, they didn't... More
