Great main course, appetizer was iffy

To begin, this restaurant is clearly worth trying. My salmon was exceptional and my friend commented that his pork chop (one of the nightly specials) was truly outstanding. We got off to a rough start. My friend ordered a martini and was clear - no fruit or olives. When the waitress brought... read more

We enjoy Augies on a regular basis. We enjoy the use of local produce and unique dishes. We never leave hungry and are always stuffed to the brim! The staff is top notch and the resturant is very cozy during the winter months. Lunches on the patio are a favorite as well. Stop in duiring the summer and grab a... More

Went Downtown...not the west side, nor the east. parked in back and actually ate in downtown Springfield. Excellent food , good service. Be patient, it is not a chain that rushes you in and out-which takes a different mind set. Walk out and see the capitol building, the old Myers building, a city scape. Great all round experience.

Five of us had a birthday dinner celebration and as always we were not disappointed at Augie's. Excellent wines for a reasonable price (go on Tuesday for half price on many botlles). Cheese plate and black bean appetizers were delicious and ample for our group. Jerk chicken entree is outstanding and one of our favorites. 3 of us had off... More

Second time to Augie's now on a Tuesday evening to give the char broiled rib eye a try that we read about on their restaurant Facebook page. If there was a rib eye competition this cut and preparation would have taken the prize- Great performance once again from Augie's. Service and wine selection were excellent and a pleasure.

Decided to try Augie's FB after reading in Crain's Business that the new Governor dines there. A couple of friends and I decided to do the same and it turned out to be a good lead to follow. I had a steak that was really select and the presentation was just as remarkable. Great service even on a busy night.... More

Went for lunch and was surprised by the menu, Adult grilled cheese with swiss and bacon, crab cakes, buffalo burger, etc. Attentive services and food came pretty fast.

I LOVE Augie's!! Best appetizers, fabulous salads, great atmosphere. In the summer can sit outside on the sidewalk directly in front of the old state capital. When it's too cold sit inside and it's a cozy eclectic atmosphere. I had the salmon salad, it was the best salmon salad I had EVER eaten, salmon was slightly crisp on the outside... More

Went for a birthday dinner. Our party of 9 was waited on promptly by a friendly and knowledgeable server. The food is excellent. The menu is a bit limited, but they strive to do as much locally-sourced food as possible, and while limited, it is varied. Listen to the specials, they are often a top pick. It's pricey--there's no question... More
