Good food, great deal!

A group of friends and I ate here last Thursday night. On Thursday nights they do a 3 course meal for $14.99. You get a salad, a choice of four or five different main dishes, and a desert. I had the chicken and waffles which were very good. I would go back for their Thursday night special.

I've only been to Augie's on Thrifty Thursdays where you get a 3 course meal for $15. There are limited choices that night, but the food is great!

Augie's never disappoints. This time it started with having Kim, bartender and hostess extraordinare, choose the drink (rum with a homemade fruit mash). Next up, a scallop ceviche and black beans served in a hollowed grapefruit with salty hot tortillas. Then warm goat cheese salad with a crispy prosciutto chip. For the entree, Lasagna with lamb, short rib and pork... More

While looking for a recommended restaurant within walking distance from our hotel - a 7 PM stroll in an unfamiliar seemingly deserted city - I stopped in a bar, the only sight of life on the block, for affirmation that we were headed in the right direction. The proprietor came out from behind the bar, donned his jacket and stepped... More

Augie's has always been reliable upscale dining in Downtown Springfield just across the street from the Old Capital Building. Crfe is taken in food preparation and our server was friendly and knowledgable.

Because of Springfield's one-way street obsession (why? there is no heavy traffic), combined with very poor signage and the fact that TripAdvisor's address is debatable (the formal entrance is on 5th, but the waiter who, over the phone, gave us complicated directions to the back entrance where there is free parking), made it a Peter Sellers adventure. Springfield also lacks... More

Augie's has an excellent Crusted Grouper. The menu is varied and during the summer service is available on the sidewalk area. The restaurant is small but has excellent service and drinks. It is above average in pricing.

This is a Springfield downtown favorite. Love their lunch and dinner menu. I have been at private events at their basement. The food will not disappoint. I am going to say this is a mid range restaurant at lunch, fine dining prices for dinner.

Four of us who live in Springfield went to Augie's again the other evening . As usual, the food was innovative and very good. My stuffed trout was especially tasteful and a somewhat unusual menu listing for this area. The others t the table had pasta and chicken dishes which were also quite good. The atmosphere is nothing special and... More
