The atmosphere is unbelievable and really made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. The staff was enjoyable and easy to speak with, and very knowledgeable on spirits and food. She knew the specials and the menu like the back of her hand! The food was out of sight perfect, my girlfriend and her mother had the salmon entry from the menu... More

On our way to Chicago, we stopped in Springfield, Illinois. We ate at Maldaner's for dinner New Year's Eve. They were busy, but sat is at the time of our reservation. The restaurant is large and it is noisy with the high ceilings of an older building so conversation was difficult at times; it made us hae to sit next... More

I was in town to celebrate my grandparents' 40th anniversary and stopped into Maldaner's being the closest local establishment from the Hilton. Back home I'm used to eyes rolling and huffing attitude from servers but here it seemed that the servers actually care. I was treated like I was royalty. I had a awesome scallop wrapped in bacon that honestly... More

Was private party. Appetizers were outstanding. Drinks were also good but seemed to be a wait whenever bartender/server left. Food was such large portions I think lot went to waste. Good pieces of meat for fillets, but not a lot of flavor. Dessert was awesome-we had the flourless chocolate cake-amazing!

Maldaner's is where the "locals" dine for they know the food and service will be exceptional. This is a chef owned restaurant and Chef Michael is well known at the local farmers markets purchasing items just harvested to serve that night. The desserts are all made fresh in the kitchen and are scrumptious. Enjoy!

This was one of our favorite 'special' restaurants. Recently there was a pretty big issue. The special was prime rib. Both my husband and my daughter ordered it. My husband's was cooked as he ordered, but there was such heavy gristle it made a LOT of the meat inedible. My daughter ordered hers well done. I know that many think... More

Stopped in here on cold day for turkey chili and french dip roast beef sandwiches. the homemade potato chips weren't crispy as we expected but rather gummy but we were there mid-afternoon and after the lunch crowd. Waiter was in middle of setting up tables for evening but still had great service. One note- the bathrooms are up a long... More

I order seafood dishes at Maldaner's and can say the preparation and flavors are always spot-on. The sea bass, if available, is a standout. Many ingredients are locally-sourced and the chef/owner is attentive to operating a green business. A local wine shop often has wine-pairing dinners at Maldaner's which are wonderfully-executed, as well. I am moving soon, yet will remember... More

We went to Maldaner's for the first time with a group of friends on a Saturday evening. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our waiter could not have been more attentive or helpful. The place was packed, it was pretty noisy but that did not take away from the overall nice experience. Our food was very good although we... More
