We havebeen to this restaurant several times. We have enjoyed it every time. The food was very good and the wait staff were very accomodating. We are planning to return again this week for our 57th anniversary

The building this restaurant is in is from the 1800's. So don't expect the Ritz - it's not. But, the food is excellent. Our waitress was very good as well. Only downside was - Take a sweater. IT WAS COLD!!! One woman had a coat on with her hood tied :( The captain's platter was excellent with deep fried lobster... More

I should have known better than to go to a seafood place in central United States. However, I did thinking it would be fine, but it wasn't. The food was greasy, poorly prepared, and rushed out to push through lots of folks. This was more like a cheap fast food sit down place than a nice seafood restaurant. The service... More

Visited for a wedding party. The service was slow but extremely friendly and welcoming. Had the steak and it was alright, just kind of stringy. The over all dinner was pleasant and we would return again.

the room was dark, it needs a good decorator. the food was ok, the lettuce salad was just that, no onion, no tomatoes, etc . just lettuce and cheese. the fish platter came with three onion rings, two shrimp and lots of clam strips. the augratin was cold and tasteless. my husband had ribs, he said they were good but... An old restaurant in an wonderful old house. The food was very good in a comfortable setting. Our service was good. It is easy to understand why they have been in business for a long time. If we Lived in Springfield it is a place we would several times a year.

At under $10 this seafood (had 3 other proteins) buffet was great. Not huge like some, but adequate with several choices in each food category and cake at the end. Beautiful dining area with great decorations and friendly wait staff. This was a lunch buffet and we were told it may be stopped and the restaurant only opened after 4... More

The atmosphere in this 1800's mansion/house was very charming. Even though the party of 8 next to us were annoyingly loud (large parties - keep in mind that you're not renting out the entire restaurant!) and it took a while for the server to come back to take our order after dropping off our water, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.... Last night my Mom, her friend, and I were wanting seafood. My mom suggested a great old restaurant that has been in Springfield for years. For some reason, we think of the normal chain restaurants when we have a wonderful one that has been in Springfield for years and still has a large crowd every night. Please, forgo the chains...
