This is a quaint little place with a slightly Bohemian feel, and some interesting options for a quick lunch. They feature a few things I've never seen anywhere before (e.g. Beet-Mint ice cream), plus some classic comforts (3 cheese mac & cheese), but on this initial visit I went for some posole and tacos carnitas. I have to say I've... More

While on a day trip to Springfield, we needed to grab lunch. I found this restaurant online with good reviews so we tried it. My husband had the corned beef hash and eggs which was huge. He really liked it. I had the steak sandwich which was served open face with mushrooms, peppers and I think onions. The flavor was... More

This is my newest favorite downtown lunch spot. The menu/specials change based upon what is locally available (which is awesome). The service was great and the food delicious, I can't rave enough.

Had a lovely lunch today at La Calia and we all enjoyed it. My sister and I had the scallop tacos and loved them. A little dollop of pico de gallo with the rice and beans would be a nice addition. My brother in law had the reuben and loved it! We shared some home made ice cream and that... More

Had a terrific lunch with friends. The space is attractive. The service was good. The food was exceptional. Scallop tacos with black beans and rice. You won't find that on the menu anywhere else in town. A great addition to downtown.

We were at the Lincoln Museum and asked a volunteer where she would recommend we have lunch. She rates a gold star because La Calia was outstanding. It's just across the street from the Lincoln Library (1/2 block from the museum). They are open for lunch until 3pm and we arrived about 2pm. The server was cordial and helpful with... More

We were just driving through Springfield on our way to Chicago but didn't want fast food so we stopped at La Calia. We were extremely impressed with how delicious and thoughtfully prepared the food was. If this place was in St Louis it would be one of my favorites. We split the Reuben and the generous portion of corned beef... More

After spending the day at the State Fair we stopped in on a whim for dinner. What a fantastic surprise this was! Service was spot on... had better service at a restaurant run by only 2 people than I have at larger, big city restaurants. Not only was the server attentive, but the chef stopped by as well. When the... More
