I've eaten a variety of Thai dishes in many restaurants across the country. I wouldn't snobbishly refer to myself as a Thai "expert," but I have a pretty good idea of what constitutes good Thai food. This is not a place to which I would return again, because they don't make much effort to create authentic Thai dishes. However, considering... More

We recently went to Thai Basil when we were in Springfield for lunch. They have a large menu, with lots of delicious-sounding dishes, Thai, Japanese, etc. We had the shrimp tempura for an appetizer, and it was good. The vegetable soup which came with the meal was a little bland, but the vegetables were fresh. My husband, mother, and I... More

Prior to Thai Basil we always went to the other neighborhood Thai restaurant. Now this is our go to place. We live 5 minutes away and usually get takeout here. The chili dish, pad Thai pad se you, and fried rice are among our favorites. They also add items to an entree if you ask. We call and food is... More

That is about all I can say about the dining experience here. I think people give away far too many 5 star reviews which have driven this place up in the ranking. I rely on tripadvisor every week when I travel and this is the first real miss for me. I knew I should have gone back to the same... More

After eating here about 15 times since they opened, with something different almost every time, my wife and I have never had a bad meal. The appetizers are all great and the entrees are very good and served in portions that are large and filling. We are blessed in Springfield to have three or four good Thai restaurants, but this... I found this restaurant through TA, and since I avoid any fast food restaurants like the plague, this was perfect for my trip from Chicago to St Louis. I got off I-55 and it was less than 5 minutes to this restaurant (in a strip mall) and service was pleasant and fast for lunch. They offer "lunch specials" for $5.95... More

Greeted immediately upon entering restaurant. Extensive menu. Waitress was attentive without becoming annoying (if you know what I mean). Family members ordered pineapple pork, crab fried rice, and General Tso's chicken. All were delicious. Glad we drove here from downtown Springfield. This is a must-try when in town.

Fresh and delicious Thai cuisine. Very inexpensive, great value. We had beef Pho and appetizer platter, shared with my husband. Zero atmosphere, but very good food, served simply and with great ingredients. Win!

This cute little place has some tasty niblets. The kiwi slushy is stellar. Good for vegetarian diets. The staff will help you pick food if your confused by the menu.
