Cozy Dinner worth a visit

The small 50s style diner is worth a visit. Seating is limited so a seat can be hard to grab durning the lunch rush. The Cozy Dog is a must and the home made fries are awesome. The chili cheeseburger is good but if you like more than just meat chili this burger is not for you. Overall if you... read more

Really, this place has the best corn dogs and the best potato salad. It's located on historic Route 66 and maintains an old diner feel. There is also a vintage library in the center if the dining area. Very neat place.

Easy to get find and a nostalgic stop - classic diner dogs and/or burgers and fries. Fresh toppings (sliced onion, pickles, relish) in stainless steel bowls. We showed up around 2:00 p.m. and walked right up to the counter to place our order, plenty of available seating.

You stop for the nostalgia....My daughter loved the corn dog, I ate the breading. The hot dogs were a little to snout and butt for me. Fries were good and they sell route 66 soda which is cool. Would I go out of my way no but if you are doing the Mother Road stop and take a look.

Every time we come back to Springfield, IL it is a tradition to eat Cozy Dog Drive Inn. The food is great and very reasonable for a family. Love the route 66 memorabilia.

We were traveling on route 66 and had to stop at the home of the first corn dog. The corn dogs were good and the place is full of route 66 items. If you are traveling on route 66 it is a must if you are in Springfield you should check it out.

I went once in 2014 and one other time. Both times my husband and I were underwhelmed. Restaurant had diner charm. Service was great! We have had corn dogs before... maybe it was the meat, but we didn't care for the cozy dog. One local with us enjoys the cozy dogs and their spouse gets a burger. I wish I... More

A place on our, list of to do places to see. The sign it self is a must to stop and photograph. Inside good service, food and some nice little gifts to take back. The corn dog is to die for. I had eaten a corn dog before but my friends had not so they didn't know what to expect.... More

You gotta getta Cozy Dog! Or 3 or 4. It's all about the Cozy Dog. If you are not a fan of corndogs or chillidogs then you probably won't get too excited about this place. You should probably eat here at least once in your lifetime just to get a Cozy Dog. They really are that good.

I was expecting a little more from this drive inn since it was the place that invented the corndog. It was OK but not as good as a corn dog at the fair. The french fries were fresh cut and very good. Best I can say is that I tried it and the food was cheap.
