Nothing like corndogs and fries at 10:00 in the Morning!

The corn dogs reminded me of the ones served at the Fair as they were crunchy and hot but juicy on the inside. French fries were cut straight from potatoes so they were very authentic. I enjoyed the taste overall and for the price $12; the three of was were full. I'll be back next time I'm in... read more

IT IS NOT a steak and lobster house.. it features "COZY DOGS". I've been eating them since I was a pre-teen. The original corn dog invented by ED WALDMIRE. I was a neighbor and friend of his son, "the Rt. 66 man", Bob Waldmire. We went to school together all the way from Kindergarten to 6th grade and then again... More

If you're traveling Rt 66 a stop at the Cozy Dog is a MUST, and if you're simply looking for a good place for lunch in the Springfield area- you need to eat here, too! :) The food is cooked fresh as you order, burgers made of real meat & corn dogs dipped and fried right before your eyes. Everything... More

From what we overheard one of the gentlemen that was here say, the cozy drive inn that is there now, is not the original one, the original one was next door where the walgreens is now. Not sure how long ago that was. It's neat on the inside for the memorabilia, my dad had a cozy dog and said that... More

This is a classic Route 66 invented the cozy dog (corn dog) nostalgic kind of place. Fun local paraphernalia. Fast food, order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. I had the cozy dog and it was tasty and fresh. Great for the kids, kid type food. Quick and easy

The corn dogs are great, as you might expect, but this place is actually more interesting for the Route 66 mini-museum that's inside the restaurant. There's usually a short wait before your order is ready, so do check out the memorabilia and books while you wait. What else are you going to do?

The food is great and the service is whirlwind quick! This quintessential landmark fun diner is the BOMB! Go back in time and order the original cozy dog and imagine yourself back in the 60s hair greased back and a poodle skirt sitting next to you. This place is boogie woogie wild and treat laden. PLEASE INVITE ME WHEN YOU... More

Undoubtedly the best corn dogs. Light batter, consistently cooked to a light crunchy outer lawyer without tasting overlooked. It doesn't taste deep fried. The historic restaurant has a unique, and homey feel.

I don't generally find too many redeeming qualities in fast food restaurants or deep fried menu options. I was very skeptical before going to Cozy Dog, thinking it would be a grease-pit. I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, nothing at Cozy Dog is good for your health, but it was surprisingly good. I hate corn dogs, and the corn dogs were... More
