Great fresh corn dogs!

corn dogs made fresh to order. SO much better than the packaged stuff you get elsewhere or in the grocery store.

A corn dog - what is that? Well I expected a battered hot dog on a stick (Australian style) and wasn't really that enamoured at the thought. I was pleasantly surprised, instead of a heavy dough the sausage was coated in a light, almost cake like batter which wasn't heavily saturated in fat. A great place to view Route 66... More

Great first corn dog experience! Food was quick to arrive, and plentiful! Staff were helpful and informative about what they sold. Certainly recommend going!

This place is nothing fancy. The corn dogs are the original from the Chicago fair. The drive in is located on old Route 66. They have a lot of memorabilia from Route 66. The kids loved it.

Neat little place with Route 66 memorabelia galore. Great fries and you have to get the cozy dog. Basically a corn dog on a stick, but really good!!! Cute little place with lots of locals eating there.

Everyone in our family enjoyed what they ordered at the cozy dog, from Cozy dogs to chili burgers to bbq and pancakes. Everyone was happy. Also, a lot of cool things to look at while your food is cooked fresh

I am all about Route 66. During spring break we were driving through Springfield, IL and had to stop and partake of the original Cozy Dog and fries. The batter on the dog is very light and fried up crispy and hot. I recommend the family order of fries that is a generous portion to share served in a basket... More

The corn dogs reminded me of the ones served at the Fair as they were crunchy and hot but juicy on the inside. French fries were cut straight from potatoes so they were very authentic. I enjoyed the taste overall and for the price $12; the three of was were full. I'll be back next time I'm in Springfield.

Made a stop here before heading to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. A quick glance at the menu board and a short wait and we had our Cozy Dogs. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and a perfect bite to the dog on the inside. Yummy! The fries were nothing special but the onion rings were good. A fun... More

IT IS NOT a steak and lobster house.. it features "COZY DOGS". I've been eating them since I was a pre-teen. The original corn dog invented by ED WALDMIRE. I was a neighbor and friend of his son, "the Rt. 66 man", Bob Waldmire. We went to school together all the way from Kindergarten to 6th grade and then again... More
