Empty Parking Lot

The parking lot looked ominous when we only spotted on vehicle at the restaurant. My husband and I decided to go in after I stated "here's to trying new things." The parking lot wasn't a good indicator on what kind of food and service we received. Our waitress was fantastic. She stated that it was... read more

on the plus side, we were seated immediately. It went downhill from there. We waited a good five minutes before a waiter appeared (no one told him we were there). The place was not busy. Including ours there were five tables. The waiter did not offer the specials. Two of us ordered medium rare steaks, they arrived rare. The entire... More

Husband ordered $30 steak, was bloody raw he had asked for medium rare. Daughter had actual pieces of lobster shells in her lobster ravioli, even swallowed a few pieces before realizing that she had chucks of shell in her mouth. I ordered Pasta Primavera, one of my favorite never go wrong meals and even that was not very good at... More

This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but my mother likes it. Me, not so much. The staff is pretty well trained, helpful and friendly, but the food is mediocre at best. The menu is basically grilled steaks and American Italian food. Most of the appetizers are fried (calamari, mozarella, onion blooms, etc.), which we skipped. I ordered... More

I was staying in the area on business and prefer visiting local eateries. Everything on the menu look inviting from the pasta to seafood to the steaks. I opted for the salmon which was done perfectly. I had a Ceasar salad along with vegetables which fit my appetite perfectly. The bread and olive oil / herb before was quite tasty.... More

This was a really nice place - the inside was really clean and the tables were very neat. It was nice to see the owner greeting tables and it seemed like he knew everyone, that is why we wanted to eat here. In my experience, when you deal with owners that make the effort to come out and talk to... More

I brought my team here for the second year in a row, after a fantastic first visit in January of 2014. We visited again this past Friday and it was even better than the first time! The staff was so kind to us as well as patient with our large group of 23. Our server Scott was top notch and... More

Second time we ate here and the last. Very pricey by Springfield IL standards Food is way below average. Salmon was overcooked as was pasta. When we asked about what "Caribbean vegetables" meant the waiter said its just what "the bag" they come in is labeled and sure enough the vegetables were soggy as if boiled in a bag from... More

Well for what I paid I would have expected the best, tender, and seasoned meat. Not the case. Not great food and extremely expensive for the quality of food.

Mariah's offers something different in the Springfield area. You can select from a wonderful menu of Italian works or local favorites. Plus they offer a weekend buffet that is very good. The building is also appealing, as it is styled as a log cabin. Nice touch. Service is also normally very good.
