Having tried several restaurants by the harbour and receiving bad service and mediocre food, we decided to try this restaurant. The food is great and the owner and staff are lovely. Even when they were really busy, the service was still very good. They offer everything from traditional Greek to very good pizza and pasta at very reasonable prices. It... More

We visited this after reading the reviews and weren't dissapointed. The menu was extensive and we struggled to choose as everything sounded so nice. The pizza we had one night was cooked in a wood-fired oven and was one of the best I've had in Greece. We've sometimes found that there isn't enough tomato sauce on them. Their moussaka was... More

Ate two course lunch with a glass of wine for £10 per person. Never too busy because of location away from sea front

I like authentic local restuarants and the people that run them. This is the best in Sissi for both and good value.Dont be taken in by the harbourside places. This is by far the best probably in all Crete

Two minutes from castello boutique resort and spa lies this unassuming traditional Greek restaurant run by local family who are very welcoming. Take your time and enjoy the local wine, home made food, especially the tzatziki, moussaka and pastitsio delicious. Go and find this restaurant you won't be disappointed.

This is a family-run restaurant with a wood-fired oven. Their prices are economical. The fish is outstanding, very fresh as is the home-made raki. The service is impeccable.

The family is nice, the food ok, price fair. The thing is that there are few guests and this tells me that this is not sustainable. Wishing the best for owner.

Every time I am in Sissi, I have to visit this lovely little piece of Cretian hospitality. I have never been disappointed with the quality and amount of the food. This time I had a Greek pizza, What a lovely change, it was light and extremely tasty, and of course finished off with Mamas complimentary desert cooked freshly every day.... More

We walked past the Taverna a few time and it was very quiet and the only reason for that is that it isn't situated on the harbour front, it is in the street behind. We had a very warm and friendly greeting from the owner and attentive service during our meal. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and if we had stayed... More
