Description: In 1998, feeling the creative talents of (then-Champps) Chef John Ursick were not reaching their full potential, they brainstormed the idea of Stokes Grill & Bar. Stokes is a unique southwestern concept featuring one of Omaha's best wine lists with over two hundred selections. After a very successful first decade, Stokes opened a second location in the Old Market of Omaha. In 2012, the original Stokes moved into a larger building near Boys Town on Dodge.

I like spicy food! Beware, its spicy, not the oh its kinda spicy, its REALLY spicy. Lots of flavor too. I would go back to try some of the other options... highly recommend the Mushroom Enchiladas. I liked the ambiance, nice place to visit with family or friends, kid friendly until 10 ish. Service needs some work.

First of all the reason I only gave this place a average rating is due to service. The service level was extremely low due to timeliness and mostly because of the kitchen. Our waiter was great and prepared us for the delay, which is not OK, but did help ease the level of frustration we might have felt. Here's the... More

I had the chicken tortilla soup for starters which was okay. I'm used to a more cream based tortilla soup, this was broth based. The flavor was okay at best. The broth was saturated with cilantro. Moving on I had Jack's plate (I think it's what it was called). It consisted of one Sharon's Almost Famous chicken enchilada, a beef/mushroom... More

Based on one dinner, we will definitely return. The creative menu made it difficult to make one selection; a fine meal and we need to work our way through the offerings on return visits.

I was very impressed with the restaurant for its creative character and ambiance. The menu had a creative flair with unique entrees, small dishes, salads, great wine selection and more. My shrimp and pasta dish was delicious; my husband’s chicken entrée was a little dry. In all, Stokes was a very impressive restaurant to enjoy after a long day of... More

As many have said- this place has great tex-mex southwest type food. Servers are very friendly. Place is always packed so show up early or else be prepared to wait- but that's the norm for any Old Market resturant. Try the sample platter- a little bit of all their great entrees. We have taken kids here- not the most kid... More

I can sum this up in three words, save your money. Water was rude, food was terrible, salsa was spilled, ended up on three of the four in our group without even an apology.

Different but good. Neat place with great atmosphere. Prices were a little steep for rice and beans.

Service was great, but the food was just ok. You can find better food in the Old Market area than this place.

I have eaten at the Miracle Hills location before but recently went to the newer location in Legacy. The fireplaces made it nice & cozy on this rather freezing night. I had a house maragarita (huge) & Sharon's chicken enchiladas. You get 3 good sized enchiladas with beans & rice. Enough for about 3 meals!! Big portions for the price.... More
