Whiskey Filet was fabukous

The location was fairly easy to find. We called for reservations and were told they did not have anything available until 9:00pm, however we were invited to sit in the bar area and thy would seat us when a table was available. It was probably a 20 minute wait. The wait staff did not know the... read more

I and others consider this to be one of the best steak places in Omaha. Mid town location and busy. Whiskey steak is a specialty and the bone on fillet Omaha not on the menu but a good selection.

I am a native Husker who is, as the song goes, "stranded ... in IOWA." I asked fellow Husker fans on a chat site for a steak restaurant recommendation; Drover was the restaurant most mentioned. So I went and ate at the bar (the restaurant was crowded on a Friday night). OK, the negative: Strange location and a bit hard... More

Several of good and great steaks to be had in Omaha, but ifs all about the steak, THIS IS IT. The Whiskey Filet is the one I prefer, but we've had many great steaks here, Limited but fresh and tasty salad bar, huge flavorful baked potatoes and a small but well chosen dessert list. With so many restaurants in Omaha,... More

I was told that this was one of the best places to go in Omaha, particularly for a steak. Their speciality is whiskey soaked steaks. I ordered the whiskey soaked ribeye. Nothing special... My steak also came overcooked. You do get plenty of food though. You will not leave full. I was also a little disappointed that the bar tender... More

My family and I enjoyed our meal at The Drover. I prefer to cook my steaks myself on my grill and do not ordinarily steak in a restaurant. But being in Omaha, we had to get a steak and I am very glad I did. The Drover is just a neat, old-time steakhouse and is worthy of a visit if... More

I was in Omaha last week for the College World Series and The Drover was recommended. Great service, great whiskey filet, nice salad bar, reasonable prices. I will dine here again!

I don't know how much longer I can go to this restaurant. Of course the steak is good although priced a little on the high side, but the atmosphere is beginning to get pretty thin. It is dark and dingy and I don't believe management has put any money into the facility in the last 200 years. A fairly mediocre... More

An excellent restaurant. I have been a customer for the last 22 years when I come to town. I do not think you can get a better meal anywhere else in Omaha. Managers Buddy and Mike will do everything to make sure you have a wonderful experience. The wait staff is fantastic and Justin behind the bar is the best.

Service could be better, but the Whiskey Steak was very good. Salad bar was fresh and tasty as well.
