Old School Steakhouse

Home of some of the best steaks in town, and that is saying something in Omaha. It is a dark place, with a great bar, attentive service, and excellent food. The filets are incredible. The salad bar is like something out of the 50s, but that is why many patrons love it. A very good but simple... read more

The whiskey filet is by far my favorite steak. That combined with fantastic ambiance and top level service is what makes me keep me coming back. Love this place.

Visited Omaha for a long weekend and I really was hoping to find a good steak. I found it! Soooo tender and a super flavor. Made reservations for the 4 of us for a Saturday night. We were seated right away. I don't even remember what side I got because I so much enjoyed my steak. Skip the bread so... More

My fiancé and I celebrated our anniversary here last February and it was PERFECT! I'm Omaha born and raised and he's originally from Massachusetts. But we both agree that the Drover is the best steakhouse we've ever been to. The romantic atmosphere, tasty salad bar and warm, fresh bread all keep us coming back. But I gotta be honest. Their... Went to dinner with a very highly rated review from friends. Called to make a reservation and the person answering said "we're full" to my date and time requested. No suggestion for an open time, no help what so ever. Felt like I was imposing for trying to make a reservation. The food was mediocre at best. Steaks way overpriced (think... More

It was only a Tuesday night and it was packed, had to wait an hour or so in the waiting area. We were looking for a good Omaha steak and we certainly did find it. We ordered the larger bone in Whiskey fillet which was large enough for both of us to share. It did not need any steak sauce... More

Within one mile of the Hospital and Hospice that my Parents were is The Drover. Subdued lighting, small rooms of 4-5 tables each. Great salad bar, FABULOUS beef! A really relaxing and delicious way to rest after being at the hospital all day!

I wanted to like this place. However as a well traveled steak lover, this place is in the bottom 25% of steakhouses I've been to. First, the ambience is old inside with weird yellowish lights making everything 1970s ish. Not necessarily a problem if the food is good, but my eyes are still readjusting an hour later. Soup was decent... More

Been seeking a remarkable steakhouse in Omaha for several years and found this gem to be delightful! My first impression of this establishment had me on edge as I walked in and noticed this place has not been upgraded since at least the 70s. The dining room looks old and dingy but was actually quite clean. The wine list featured... More
