For a single guy, I am not sure if there is a better date spot in Omaha than this place. Situated in the Old Market Passageway, this restaurant is in a romantic location. A date and I visited this restaurant on a Friday evening around 6. We didn't have reservations, but were able to get sat quickly. Every option on... More

3 course meal served by an excellent waitress who actually knew the wines and food (not a preprogrammed marketing tool). All courses were well prepared and delivered hot. The food was delicious. This was so much better than the other downtown spot we tried recently.

Made the mistake of going there on NY Eve....marginal food, grossly over priced and terrible service. I could find a dozen other places in Omaha that would provide better results. Even in non-holiday cicumstances our experience there has been marginal at best.

This is not a place you want to take children. Food is good, but it is on the high price side. It is a special occasion place. Good atmosphere.

This restaurant was a delightful dining experience and definitely one of the best ones during my stay in the USA. Although a bit formal for my liking, the location is in a lovely old passage, with beautiful brick arches and plant pots, which add to the whole ambiance. The waitress was very friendly, correct and she knew well the dishes... More

I had not been to V Mertz in years. It was a favourite haunt a couple of decades ago when I tended to spend more time downtown and in the Old Market. Time change, but this restaurant seems not to have changed a bit. V Mertz is one of the oldest establishments in Omaha's Old Market. It is in the... More

We are Omaha natives, and have dined here many times, but only twice before under current management. Tonight's meal was exceptional. So special that I went back over my reviews from the last couple of years from all over the country. 5 restaurants stood out. Nightwood, from Chicago, the Peninsula Grill from our most recent Charleston sojourn, Birch & Barley... More

The food is really good. The service is great. Expect, however, to pay high dollar for your meal. It is a nice place to take someone special out for a special occasion.

We had a wonderful evening in This warm & inviting setting! While visiting family my wife & I walked by the restaurant late in the afternoon. One of the managers was rearranging a vase..so i asked for a flower for my bride. He happily agreed! We started talking & found he was happy & professional! Based on that interactions &... More

My wife and I went to V. Mertz for our anniversary and the experience was simply fantastic - this was our first time there and we were not disappointed. I'm not too much of a "foodie" so my expectations for success were based on my wife's experience and V. Mertz hit a grand slam for both of us. We ordered... More
