This place has been going downhill since the former owner passed. Dirty, food is subpar & takes forever. Ceiling tiles missing. Blech!

Since pizza was in the name I assumed that it would be their signature dish. Not so, it tasted like a chef Boyardee kit. Atmosphere was nice though and so were the drinks. Some of the food that people around us ordered looked amazing. Wish I would've know to order something other than the pizza.

I have been coming to Big Fred's since I was a kid. The pizza has always been great, but my new favorite it the prime rib. It is as good as any steakhouse in Omaha and doesn't cost nearly as much. As many others have said, get it with the onion rings.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for great hometown food. Mozzarella sticks and onion rings were great. The double crust was enormous and we had plenty of leftovers. You won't leave hungry.

I was born in Omaha and return here annually to visit family and friends. Big Fred's is one of the only MUST EAT places on my list when I visit. My dad, uncle, my two kids, and I went to Big Fred's on Sunday, June 1. We were seated right away and the atmosphere wasn't any different. We ordered drinks,... More

I had not been to Big Fred's in several years, nor since the ownership transition. The classic is still there. The place is large, but wasn't jam packed like it always seemed to be. There is a big bar, and lots of tables for any size group. The pizza is very good, as it always was, a thinnish crust with... More

Good food, homey atmosphere! Busy place, be prepared to wait - or do take out. You might run into anyone from Omaha here. At the take out I met a classmate I hadn't seen in a dozen (or more) years. Classic Omaha meeting place.

still an okay pie ... just not as good as it used to be. Crust was thin, dry and chewy. Paid $21.60 for a large beef and onion that looked more like what others call medium. Sadly, Big Fred's no longer stands out from the pack.

For big groups it is accommodating. We waited a long time and then had slow service on a Saturday night. It was not as good as I remember it 5 years ago. The salads are smaller and the pizza more pricey. The pizza is a uniquely homemade crust with available romano cheese, which does add a special touch to the... More
