Dinner out with friends to catch up

Went on a Sat eve around 5:30 - not very busy yet. Sat in the back corner which was find, makes it easy to talk. Next two tables are seated right next to us. Plenty of empty tables. Now we'r all right on top of each other and so loud, can't hear to talk across the table. Food was plentiful... read more

As some others have stated in their reviews I got a salad. It was warm iceberg lettuce smothered in some kind of oily dressing. I don't believe anyone at our table ending up eating it. The bread was good but did feel like frozen dinner rolls. I got the chicken fettucine alfredo. It was good and a rather large serving.... More

We love Malara's and recommend to friends all the time. I dont understand why people give poor reviews based solely on decor. Who cares? We ordered the parmesan eggplant and fried ravioli as appetizers. These were delicious!! I could have made my whole meal out of these and their red sauce is some of the best I've had (I dont... My husband and I decided to try this restaurant after my sister raved about it. So on a Saturday night we strolled in. The hostess that treated us like we were being a bit of a bother rather than customers so that started our night off a bit bad. It not being a large menu, we decided on our meals... More

While the atmosphere is a bit tacky, the food is simply excellent. The Ravioli are homemade, which now days is unheard of!!! Prices are very reasonable. Will go back soon!

We started the night by calling ahead to see how long the wait would be. We were told "No Problem". We asked if we could get a table for two in 15 minutes and were told "No Problem". So we arrived in about 15 minutes and were told that we would need to wait. That was about 7:00 PM. We... More

Great neighborhood restaurant that is homey & clubbly. At lunch, found a table of lawyers having a great lunch. Had sausage pepper sandwich, meatball sandwich, eggplant parmasan, & order of cheese sticks! All first rate.

With a dearth of good Italian restaurants in our hometown of Lawrence (Kansas), we decided to try Malara's on a recent trip to Omaha after having read the rave reviews on Yelp. After our dinner, however, I am left wondering how this place ended up with 4 stars. The place is huge and the decor a bit tacky, looking as... More

Malara's has long been a neighborhood favorite for Italian food, and my recent meal there was most enjoyable. Their pastas are homemade, and the cheese ravioli with their basic red sauce was delicious, as was the homemade sausage that accompanied it. The meal comes with a plentiful lettuce salad with an excellent house dressing, and I liked that you could... More

Can't say enought about the comfortable, homey, family-type atmosphere and the absolutely delicious food. We were a party of six - with all but two of us being from out-of-town - yet our server treated us as if we were long lost friends returning home. Portion sizes are generous - half-sized dinners were plenty and even then we brought some... More
