We had a big family dinner at Malara's last night and had a terrible server (older blond lady). We asked for our child's drink three times and, when she brought it out, she complained about the drink server to us (for what it was worth, the drink server was MUCH nicer than her). When she approached the table with the... More

The goal for the evening was to find an old, historic Italian restaurant. This fit the bill perfectly. I think I ate here many years ago but they've remodeled since then. Compared to other top-billed Italian restaurants in the area, Malara's prices are certainly the most reasonable. The wine list is decent, the salads are good, bread service made the kids... More

Dined here on the sole recommendation of my client's project team. It was a bit hard to find but worth the search. Despite my slight skepticism, the waitress recommended the Teira Merlot. Wow! It might have well been a Cabernet Franc. The meal was worth it for this alone. Though the salad was so-so, the whole wheat pasta with marinara... More

This place is old and overpriced. Don't go hungry, either. People who wrote on here the salads are awful? They were right! Honestly we couldn't believe they served them. This restaurant is filled with fake dusty plants. My husband had the tortellini with white sauce. It was one layer of tortellini, very bland sauce, came with one of the brown... More

Malara's is hidden away in a neighborhood south of downtown Omaha. It is family run business that serves the best of Italian food. The furnishings are very utilitarian, the prices are very modest, and the food is very, very good. The pasta is homemade, and it literally melts in your mouth. I have taken friends who have lived in Italy... More

I've never had a bad experience here. The food is wonderful, and I especially love the bread rolls. Great place for a family dinner. It's in an out-of-the-way location, and I don't think I would have known about it had my grandma not lived in the neighborhood. The only thing I don't like is that it's closed on Sundays!

I like Malara's finally after a few tries. I usually choose white sauce unless I know the red doesn't have onion and tomato chunks. Just my preference. The first few times at Malara's, I had white sauce. It's not my favorite, thick cream with not a lot of cheese flavor. Mangia's and Sgt. Pfeffers white sauces are better. I finally... More
