Great food, service and ambience! Superb wines including the dessert wines. Hands down, one of the best restaurants in Omaha.
I just love this farm to table restaurant. I find myself going there quite often because I love their bar, happy hour and most of all, staff! Try their heirloom popcorn...it's not to be missed!
.Wow!!!!! Started with an unctuous amuse on a large spoon which immediately woke my pallete up for the rest of the meal. The appetizer was an amazing dish of clams with spinach, okra and squash perfectly plated. Seated at the bar in chair 103, I was able to get a birds eye view of the chefs in the kitchen plying... Visitors to Omaha often congregate and therefore dine in the Old Market area - and then complain of overpriced food and indifferent service. A viable alternative is the short drive to the Grey Plume in the Midtown Crossing area, conveniently located on Farnam Street. While not inexpensive by any means, food at the Grey Plume is worth its price. On... More
Omaha is not conventionally considered the 'culinary capitol' of the midwest, or quite frankly, even the state. Nebraska... often overlooked and under-estimated by city dwellers, sybarites and the like. Nebraska remains an assumed superfluous bastion of "The Fly-over states," as coined by my coastal-planted friends. Relegated as 'inhabited with corn, suburbs and the occasional strip-mall.' To be quipped early on,... More
We ate at The Grey Plume on Monday, September 30th while visiting from Cleveland, Ohio, a city known for it's fabulous restaurants. This dinner was in celebration of my son's engagement. We are "foodies" and enjoy trying the cuisines of hot new chefs around the country and were eager for the experience based on reviews and recommendations. Before we ordered... More
Let me preface this by saying I am from the east coast. I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, including many three Michelin star restaurants in manhattan. I don't usually write reviews, but I do believe in giving credit where credit is due. Food This is where the grey plume shines. If you want a... More
I really loved the open, casual mood in the restaurant. The vibe is akin to dining at the home of a friend. Service is professional and attentive. The wine list is rather small, but well chosen with some less commonly found selections. Our bottle of Hansel South Slope Pinot was excellent. We started with a shared homemade charcuterie plate. It... More
While in Omaha in June twice I had dinner with friends at The Grey Plume. The first night was so good we went back for more a few nights later. The service is good with some servers more friendly than others. I think our waiter the first night was new. But they do a nice thing at The Grey Plume--they... More
Upscale restaurant that just hasn't measured up to our expectations (which were set the first time we dined here) since our last two visits. This last visit Friday evening August 2nd was just ok. The server was mediocre at best and not what one would expect in a first class dining establishment (culminating hours later for me when I realized... More
